Well, Finally Did Some Major Experimenting

Recommended Posts

Well see I have not got around ordering Natural coals and getting the 10 dollar electric stove from Wal-Mart...so I was stuck with quicklights...I noticed that if you do not cover all parts of the tobacco on the bowl Tangiers gets harsh as hell.

So I broke up 4 small pieces of one coal of Golden Coal quick lights .... found a turkey poker that makes square holes in the foil instead of the circles (Did the hole method shown by rayver)...and it worked perfectly.

Once u master tangiers you only need 2 coals at a time, hell Ive gotten thick white smoke with 1 and a half coals smile.gif .

Oh Tangiers... haha

I've been sucessfull with only one coal, broken in half, i move them constantly though...

Hopefully i wont have to 'learn' how to 'use' Tangiers all over again when my Phunnel bowl comes in.

I'm still having a hard time understanding why so many people have a hard time with Tangiers. It has always smoked perfectly for me. Funnel, no funnel, one coal, pieces, all of that seems to make no difference. I get great clouds, nice flavor and a room spinning buzz from about the 3rd hit. I've never had it go harsh, although it's definitely less "candy-ish" than any other brand. 90% of the time I just drop it in a regular bowl, poke holes, drop on a single whole golden and go. And never a problem. Now I'm kind of looking to see other successful Tangiers smokers near me in Los Angeles because I'd like to hang out and see if they're doing something different and smoke off their pipe and mine and compare, because while I may not be getting any of the problems other have with Tangiers, I'd like to know I'm also getting the very best out of it. Does that make any sense?
