Cheese//
I think that he should work on his distribution before he starts making a new variety.Or perhaps this is his way into the mainstream?
cabanapatio
Wow...I'm glad a lot of ppl feel the same way! Don't get me wrong, I would never want tangiers to change something good, but I personally think a washed line would satisfy the whole spectrum of hookah smokers. I like buzzes but I'm very sensitive to nicotine. After all, it is a drug... Sonthert (sp?), what do you think?HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE! ZenSilk
We as his customers, some of us truly Loyal, , should be able to voice what we want. It wouldn't even be that hard of a change, and it would boost his sales even more so. Believe me, with that price and that flavor, it would be my exclusive shisha. I'm not a buzz kinda guy, i'm all about taste. I'm sure he will chime in sooner or later and maybe tell us he's working on it.

I haven't tried every brand of tobacco yet, but so far Tangiers is leaps and bounds ahead of everything else for me. I generally only bring out the Al Fakher or Starbuzz when I have a specific reason for not wanting a buzz, like being about to go to sleep or having already had 4 bowls that day, or if novice smokers are joining me.I'm with you, if there was introduced a washed line (P-Line, for "pussy", or W-Line, for "weakling", perhaps) there would be no reason for me to ever smoke non-Tangiers tobacco. ZenSilk
I was looking at the previous "Washed Tangiers" thread, and it ended in a big NO. One of the reasons was for competition. As of now, tangiers is relatively famous. Almost everyone has tried it out who has been on this forum for atleast a month. I think it was ASUSEAN that said the problem would be competition with SB and AF, what everyone loves. But i think it would still be competition, only the opposite. Eric would put those companies out of business. If he sticks with the molasses base that he uses with his normal style tobacco, and keeps the flavoring strong (Which i know he will do both these things), there will be a huge migration of AF and SB lovers to Tangiers across the board. It's all up to Eric's chemistry skills pretty much.

Sonthert
I've toyed around with it, made some limited production stuff...some company still has some...I'm not telling who. Well, it was an imported, washed foundation (actually, the same one that Smiley was using when he first made some tobacco) and I added flavor. Most times, the flavors were wrong or crummy on a washed, honey-based foundation. Kashmir was ungodly awful! Nicotine and molasses make Tangiers flavors what they are. Somebody else, from a commercial level have been trying to convince me to make a washed, molasses-based tobacco, but that will be far, far more difficult. There are two ways to do it, one is to wash it and cook it right away, The other is to wash it, and then redry it. The first way is the most reasonable. Either way, it would be more expensive because it would take even longer to make than regular Tangiers...like Starbuzz prices. Although it would be molasses based and not corn syrup based. Spoilage might be an issue. The stuff might ferment...I can't say.For those of you who have puked: Sorry...you knew the job was dangerous when you took it! You could also mix like 10% Tangiers with some other brand and slowly increase the amount of Tangiers in the percentage (20%, 30%, etc.) until you become accustomed to it. If you put more tobacco in the bowl, it may decrease that effect. Most people I find that have that problem have less trouble when they use more tobacco in the bowl, if packing pure Tangiers. ZenSilk
But, for me, i can't get anything CLOSE to the taste Tangiers offers with any other brand. The are all so... fake.. and weak.. Tangiers takes it to a whole new level. But I HATE buzzes, well to an extent. And i did try mixing a couple times, but it just didn't taste right. And i still got a super buzz. I would pay 20 bucks or more for Tangiers that had a lower nicotine content. In a heart beat. I buy SB, because it has a low nic. content and great smoke, so-so flavour. It sucks, and i'm in a rut.
