they are less than two bucks. I got mine at an Ace hardware. They are about 3" around and have a little grabber in the middle. So you trim the outer and inner to fit. If you trim one just right you could trim off the tits and that would make them easier to clean.
I clean my mods by heated them up with my torch and quenching them in cold water so that should work with this as well.
Just remember not to use a steel brush or steel wool because iron particles embed in softer metal and convert to iron oxide so you get rusty aluminum or copper believe it or not. Least that's what Shiner says smile.gif

Could you just cut out a circle of window-screen? I have like 324098230948230948234 square feet of window screen that I bought at Home Depot for $5 to use with my 75g party bowl (the holes are really big, and I needed it to keep the shisha from getting sucked down). I'm not sure that the type of screen you're using would work with my glass scalli mod and I'm too mechanically inept to make a copper one.

If you did it that way I would put the tits to the outer edge and give more clearance on the hole it the middle so it came close but not quite touch the glass. It just seems like the aluminum touching the glass would not be good. Dunno why, but...

As far as aluminum window screen you could always try it. Once the molasses starts trying to go through the small holes though it may make for a hard draw. But ya never know until you try. Window screen is pretty flimsy and the heat is going to add to that as well.
Hope for success, accept setbacks and work off of those setbacks to get it right down the road.... or across the sea. That's my motto ARRRR!!!

If you ever did get here you better wear your party cap because the brew will flow, the pipes will smoke, and at least we can look at the local vixens smile.gif
