msuspartan2k7
How do you guys clean out your hoses? There is a bunch of particulate matter inside the hose and it's both bad for me and makes me look bad when I have people over to smoke. I have tried to put a piece of cotton in one of those plastic tips, taking a few HARD hits, then taking it off; it works okay... anybody have anything that works better? Peace. John Deere
well I use my hookah often, and have never gotton anything in my hose, I suggest getting a mya saray hose, its 5-7 bucks depending on if you want metal or wood tip. I't worth it, trust me. otherwise, you cant clean a regular hose, it will rust and taste like crap

Soup
Say, if a hose (non-washable) was out of service for not a long time, how would one go about cleaning it?
John Deere
well, you wouldnt really. The metal inside will rust if exposed to water, and the only other thing you could really do is bend it all around and blow it out.

jmexx
I would buy the washable hoses. My last hookah came with two and I bought two others for my other hookahs. They're so good! When the water can't get the taste out, all I do is pour some lemon juice into the hose, whip it around a bit and rinse the ish out of it! Voila, like new! Just my 2 cents, happy smoking!Jon

Counter_Culture
haha yea my hose seems to have a lot of junk in it as well...what i do is hold the hose with two hands, one at the end, one at the middle, and i twirl the middle -> no holding end..i give it about a good 5 second twirl and then eventually move my hand closer to the end thats not being held. then i do the exact same thing on the other side..this helps crack the dried junk in the hose and bring it towards the end...after twirling it, i fill it with water (washable hose) and cover both ends then shake..after i shake, i spill it out and out it goes! it helps A LOT! after washing, remember to hang it dry so no water stays inside! or what u cud do is buy some hoses from hookahook.com...there seems to be an error on the page and it says that the hoses are free..nothing wrong with trying...but shoot, FREE HOSES & ACCESSORIES?! I'D TRY IT! just i cant cuz i dont have a credit card or paypal! if you give it a shot, update me on what they say!

John Deere
i emailed them asking about it, I'm positive its a mistake, because those are all things that are still on the market, and are non perishable, so I'm sure they would charge you for the stuff in the end
jmexx
Yeah but it could be a form of marketing, I'm in sales and I see it all the time. You gotta lose money to make money, if I buy a free hose I'd want some other accessories to go with it just so I won't waste shipping money. It could be something like that, depending on their level of intelligence in the marketing world.I hope it's no mistake though! Happy smoking,Jon
mushrat
Hate to break it to you all, but They are still working on their new site. They started to completely redo it a month or 2 ago and look like they are slowly bringing different sections of it online.

Happy smoking, Jon[/quote] I'm a business major, and no company in their right mind would give away product like that. It would be completely irrational and they would lose A LOT of money, more than they would ever make back from people buying additional product. It just wouldnt happen, especially in the hookah industry. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.
ahwahoo2006
If you have a head shop near you, most of them sell a cleaner called Natural 420, or something like that, that is AMAZING for cleaning. That stuff dissolves everything better than anything else I've tried.

Sariél
I've found that orange oil household cleaner works very well. A few sprays into the base, stem and hose, followed by liberal rinsing cleans everything. I also take the aerator off my kitchen sink, and experimenting with grommets, get a pretty good seal by inserting the hose or stem into the faucet, and running hot water at full blast. This, with the orange cleaner, lets me enjoy a nice lemon or strawberry smoke right after a session with arc sous. Occaisionally I smack the hose against a wall, then rinse it out. Its amazing and disgusting how much more crap gets knocked loose that way.
