I'd assume you'd just cut out a hole the size of the opening of your regular base. Then hallow the inside out a bit and setup like normal.

If you wanted to go all out, you could even use the juice from the extracted fruit as your base liquid.

I know a Hookah bar in my town does it, but i'v never ordered it. I'v never really gotten a good look at it, but people swear by them. They are possible, and they do work....hope that helps some.

i've seen this done in Lebanon with watermelon, pumkin, and even pineapple.

1. just take a piece of paper and figure out the diameter of your water pipe, stencil it out on the top of the fruit.
2. cut off a piece on the bottom, so you don't hit the fruit part, but so that it will be flat enough so you won't have to hold it all the time
3.cut the hole (it should be a little smaller than the diameter of your water pipe. (so it will be air tight)
4. fill the fruit with water (fill it through the hole the stem of the water pipe will go in)
5. business as usual, unlike fruit heads there won't be any significant heat getting to the base, so you won't have to worry about it collapsing...

pair this with some juice in the bottom, and the same flavor tobacco in the head, and of course some coco nara to heat the tombac and you've got it made in the shade
