Smoked Tangiers A Little Differently Today...

So I sold my phunnel and mod to Dr. Atkins a few weeks back because I was clearing my stash out but today I found a small pack of Tangiers I forgot I had. Lacking a phunnel I thought, "Ah, why the hell not. I'll put it in my friend's egyptian head." I packed it similarly to a phunnel, full to the brim, and looking at what Eric did in a previous post with pictures (pushed a little bit to make a slight indent). Threw some coals on and bam! Smoke and flavor faster than the phunnel with typical clouds, flavor, and buzz that Tangiers gives. Because it's in a standard bowl, the tobacco does die (for us after about 1hr 15min) however, I liked this more because with the phunnel, you can keep smoking forever and that cannot be too good for you . I recommend this for solo sessions with Tangiers without destroying one's stock.

I'v done the same thing! Actually it was my roommate one day, he said he didnt want to use that much shisha for one session. We did it again that night and it was sweet! I might do it right now actually... Cherry Merischino!

i dont remember the last time i actually used a phunnel bowl..

and all i smoke is tangiers. i just have been using a reg. mya bowl

See? Thats why I always get a little nutso when people say "You need a phunnel to smoke Tangiers.". What do you think we used before I invented phunnels? Thats right standard heads. They smoke fine. In a way, standards may smoke slightly better than a phunnel, but they die out faster and have more problems with humidity acclimation.

is there anyway at all to pack the bowl without filling it to the brim? I'm really wanting to get my tangiers on, but I don't want to risk losing half a package if I screw it up a couple times while I'm getting it right.

ummm yes. lol

don;t put as much tobacco it? but if you are using natural coals it will probably smoke better if you pack it to the brim but not overflowing

Yeah, I know what you mean. Lots and lots of people have no trouble. Get a smaller phunnel (if possible) to start with.

I smoke Tang mostly out of a regular bowl. I have a phunnel, but I normally dont want to smoke that much at 1 time. I do use the Super chief for everything else though. Helps keep the liquid from Layalina in control.
