What Got You Into Hookah

about six years ago a neighbor of mine says to me "mine is (my name here) , we're gonna smoke some fruit..." and i was like "okay" so he gets out his one hose and tells me about this north african friend he had that gave it to him. so i said i'm sorry pete but i'm not into nht but thanks for the offer . it looked like an egyptian but somehow "authentic" the way the glass was painted and the stem was tarnished, the bowl was cracked and the grommets were made of wet toilet paper ...he says No its nothin like that (my name here) "its very much a fruit" and busted out the naklah mixed fruit. i was hooked a few days later i purchased a one hose egyptian with pictures of pharoahs like tut and nefertiti on the vase. i loved that pipe. we lost it in the move. but now i have a two hose

Just started going to shisha cafe with friends and really enjoyed it so i thought i'll get a hookah of my own. Then I came here and learnt so much more.

I was 17 and I went over to my friends house. He had another friend there, in his room watching the Laker game and smoking out of his hookah. He looked at me and said hey come have a puff. I was hooked after that first puff. AHe was froum Saudi, and he knew a lot about The hookah. He taught me everything there was to know. The best pipes, the best Shishas to buy. the best charcoal, the best tobacco. How to clean it, how to set it up. 12 years later and still going. he is my friend to this day.

First year of college, the assistant managers at the deli i worked threw a party and there was a 4 hose there, they explained it to me, we smoked fruit cocktail, double apple, Mint and i am sure more, but that was 9 years ago. Dropped my cigs and the trash and never looked back! I am more of a recreational smoker now.

I really hadn't seen it in person until I was living in DC a few years ago but I never tried it then. The 1st time I tried was almost 2 years agao at the Velvet Hookah Bar here in Dallas (now closed down ). I loved the the taste. Orange Cream Al-Waha now that I think about it. I didn't try it again until about 6 months ago. After that, it was always at the back of my mind that I wanted to buy one but never got around to it. Finally bought my own about 3 weeks ago. I used to smoke cigarettes but stopped about 2 1/2 months ago. I tried smoking one a couple of weeks ago but now that hookah is on my mind all the time, a cigarette is just plain nasty. I took a puff and was like "Where the hell is the flavor?!?!" Then I cam across this forum and have learned so much. Thanks guys.

Well about a year and a few months ago A few of my really good friends got me into it and have been smoking ever since and just about a month or so ago bought my own hookah. I am so grateful and happy they introduced me to it thanks guys!!!

And also since I have been with the forum, I am picking up tips!! Thanks Forum!!!
