hookah hippie
So I was smoking my Mya paragon and when I would clear the chamber the ball bearing wouldn't fall back into place I would have to unscrew the valve and take out ball bearing and screw on the valve apparently the ball bearing falls into the oddly shaped valve and it doesn't fall back out any suggestions or similar problems

Is there maybe something gooey up in the screw cap? maybe some shisha (for some reason, haha). Try cleaning out that cap, though. Lemon juice. hookah hippie
It is a cap I think when I clear the chamber the ball comes out and then falls straight down into the cap and can't get over the lip of the cap
ZenSilk
My hose ports have a screw in them sitting in the middle of the port keeping the bearing from goign into the hose. It sounds like yours are sticky with shisha juuice.
mushrat
Zen: yours doesn't sound like a Mya, I've never seen a Mya with the screw in the middle. Thats more of a traditional Hookah feature.
ZenSilk
It's from H-S with Mya printed on it. Maybe it's not...but the extra adapter i got has the same thing. Also form H-S.
hookah hippie
its not going in the hose, when i clear the chamber the ball bearing doesn't return to its original spot making it not air tight
ZenSilk
Does the bearing itself have an imperfection?
spoolinspoon
If your purge valve is in a shape of a ball and so is the bottem of the stem....then you probably need a larger bearing. I have had the same problem, the ones with the ball shaped purge valve.

samildanach
i have the same problem with my mya vortex , the purge valve is round in shape, and when u blow to clear the air, the ball bearing goes up and and doesnt fall back down, it gets stuck.it cant be sticky with juice coz this thing is brand new.annoying as hell.. RayVer
same happens to my Gyro...I have it planned to be in the vide review when I have to do it.BTW all you have to do is give it a tap with your finger and the ball bearing falls down...no need to unscrew the whole thing. spoolinspoon
yep, If you take a hit and hear a small whistle.......give it a tap tap and it should be good.I told MYA about this and they gave me some bearings that are a bit bigger. After changing out the smaller bearing, it was fixed.
spoolinspoon
I think its more of a design defect. If the purge valve was at a smaller angle then it would be fine.

bigcam112
This is still one thing i dont know about is this purge valve... i have heard a few things about it and its purpose but some just dont make any sense... can someone enlighten me.. please
mushrat
primarily its a one way ball valve that allows you to blow into your hose and it pushes the ball out of the way and the bad smoke in the base to escape past the ball. When you suck on the hose (don't say it) the ball is suposed to be suctioned back into place and not allow any outside air back into the base. It's just a way to clear nasty or stale smoke out of your base.
Scoop
the mya common chamber makes it impossible to create the pressure needed to blow out the vase...weaksauce eh
bigcam112
Thanks mush.. yeah thats what i figured and the only reason i use it... i have also heard of like some kind of ridiculous thing about how all the bad smoke sits at the bottom and you have to blow it out every once in a while to keep from inhaling it... like as if the air right above the water is filled with toxins and they put it there so you can every once in a while blow them out... i might have even heard that on here somewhere but i dont know for sure..
