ubernerd83
What's the best hole pattern for a medium phunnel filled with non-Tangiers tobacco and no mod? (If it matters, the brand is Layalina, and I haven't decided what flavor I'll be smoking tonight.)Thanks.
oolatec
Whenever I don't use the mod, I'll poke a hole in the middle, a series of holes just outside the inner ring, and another series of holes just inside the inner ring. Works great.

iamscott06
Or just put random holes and a pretty decent sized hole in the middle.
Stealth
I have a question about this. Whats the significance of the single hole in the middle? Seems to me that it is giveing pure air a strait shot into the stem. Unless my thinking is completly flawed, this is no different that having a small air leak somewhere in your shaft. I don't know exactly what it is that makes it a good hole to poke.I smoked with no hole in the middle (with my phunnel bowl), and then after a while poked a hole in the middle and it seemingly was a TAD, bit better. Is it more hot air getting to more water, allowing for more of it to be turned into steam?? Scheetz
Three rings around the outside. Farthest one out has many done close together, next ring is a bit spread out, inner ring probably only has 10 holes in total. I NEVER put a hole in the center, no matter what. I tried it and didnt like it, so I found my own method. That goes for any tobacco I smoke with or without mod.

Just in case the foil isn't as tight as it could be.But I almost always use my mod anyway...
Tati
I dont poke a hole in the middle because i think it decreases the amount and thickness of the clouds. What I do is 2 circles around, then I take a small piece of foil and roll it (or a toothpick) and put it across two of the closest holes in the circle so that it is over the hole in the phunnel.Does that make sense?
