Well, someone in my class asked me to put some songs on her sisters iPod. I suspected it was stolen when i asked if they had a cable and she knew absolutely nothing about the cable. So I hooked up the iPod and it said it was names David's iPod and all the songs on there were rock. This girl is ghhheetttooo. She listens to rap and nothing but, so when i saw all rock on their i didnt believe it was her...or her sisters. Do you guys know if there is a way to find out of an ipod is stolen?

first of all i wouldnt assume the ipod is stolen, no matter how much of the evidence shows otherwise. all you have is conjecture, no solid proof that anyone is missing an ipod -- let alone someone named 'chris'. now, unless the person reported it stolen to the authorities or school or w/e then you have no way of proving it. apple doesn't keep track of owners or their serials. unless the person had it registered even then its a slim to none chance. if i were you id keep quiet and put the songs on there (after youve checked out if anyone's had their ipod stolen). if you ever hear of anything later on you know who has the ipod and you can point them the right way. for all you know it's her sisters (at this point you're not an extension of the alleged crime). i prob. confused you more than give you advice, but good luck.

Sounds stolen.. i don't know any bitches named Dave. Especially ghetto-ass ones. And i know alot of peple like that that actually exclusively steal ipods. Umm, there's a serial number on the back, i think that has somehting to do with finding the owner. But probably not. Once it's stolen it's stolen usua;;y. I'm surp[rised she didn't sell it. Just ask her, and if she says "No way!!" ask why it's dave's. And slap a ho. I hate ipod stealers. They are always druggies.

Thats pretty much what i was doing

It's hard not to assume the ipod is stolen because of the area im in. They'll steal the axe out of your backpack haha...Fuckers
So when i bring my ipod it stays in my pocket or in my hand...

Edit: just saw your post zen

yeah...No ghetto ass women named David. I know ones named keshawna (my ex) and keywona and shamiqua...i can go on. but none named david Edited by .cOLt.45.

Meh, she could have bought it from someone else as well. While there is a chance she bought a stolen ipod from somebody you cant really do anything about it. Unless someone has a posting somewhere that it was stolen.

Check the contacts folder, may have some info in there. How about photos?

You KNOW it's hot, and recently so if the battery still had a charge at all.

By the way, if you were online and Itunes activated once you plugged it in, the serial number was sent to apple. OOPS!!!!! Even more, if the owner had Gadgetrack installed the info gets forwarded to local law enf.

I would clear the datum on that bugger, distance and lack of possession is a good thing. Anyone could plug something into your craputer.

Exactly. That could be why she needed songs put on it.

I would just do it and not worry. If you're still curious, you could ask is she just bought it in a non-accusatory way, and tell her that they should have given her the cable. If she gets defensive, it's probably stolen.

But, there probably isn't much you can do if it is stolen other than piss the thieves off and cause yourself grief.

Give it back to her, and say it won't work. If you are giving her songs, then you will too be part of the problem. Don't associate with her at all. If you put those songs on there, and she is caught with a stolen ipod with songs from you, this will put you in a horrible spot. She could turn you in as giving her the songs, or the ipod itself which will implicate you as a thief. Nothing good can come from this, stay away.

wow...
1) If its stolen its not your problem
2)She probably found it or would tell you she stole it if you care so much to ask
3) "Like 90% of ghetto dressing, acting, etc. people are thiefs." ... wow, amazing
4)No one registers a $150 ipod if they are under the age of 45

This thread makes my head hurt
