Ooph
If you overfill the water too much, you will not be able to blow the excess smoke out of the water. The pull will be harder as well.
bigcam112
oh yeah i knew all those kinds of things i was looking more for the take on smoke thickness and water level... thanks tho
Patzke
This is nothing scientific, but what i've noticed in my sessions goes as following:When i fill the water too high, it makes the vase less efficient becasue theres not as large of a "smoke chamber." If that makes sense. If you fill it too low, you're not getting the proper filtering/cooling. But you MIGHT get more bigger smoke because you've got a larger changer.I have a mark on my bambino that i fill 'er to every time, and thats my favorite spot. Its about 1/2" up the stem or so.But like i said, it helps (IMO) if you leave more room for smoke.
Canon
one think i like about the glyph, the stem goes down far enough and the vase's neck is long enough to where you can control how much water level you want, ill say that you could put 4" of water and still have nice smoke, i like 2-3" it doesnt affect the pull very much and the smoke seems to be better

shisha fan
i usually fill the base up to one inch above the stem, sometimes a little more, but that also depends on the shape of the base.
Bryantos
If its water, then about half an inch is what I do. However, if you're using thicker liquids, especially milk, the lower the better.
YuoGotOwn3d
I fill it up 1/2 inch up stem and put straws in the stem as a sort of diffuser.
pavlakos
hmmm, i still havent tried the straw thing. i fill up about 1 1/2 inch above stem. a water line has been stained onto the glass from where i fill it so i just fill up to the line. TheOneNonlyTK
i like to leave as much room as possible for a smoke chamber. if you want something that works great i just bought a difuser and it works amazing everyone who smokes with me enjoys it. i just submerge the difuser down far enough to where it is just completely under water and it works great
