Perrj99
22" 2-Hose Persian Hookah Stem Total Length: 22" This stem is equipped with an Automatic Plug Mechanism. Inside all but the master-valve is a metal ball bearing which regulates the air-flow. Eliminates the need for stem plugs or hose caps.I was considering ordering a Catalyst Vase and possibly a 'Persian Stem' from HookahHookah, but wanted to know if anyone has one, and knows if the same problems that others have had with Sahara Smoke's stems relate to this particular stem. The usual stem on most of their hookahs is just a regular old stainless steel one without the auto-plug deal. Anyone know if these pose the same problems, ie: leaks, small holes, thin, flimsy, etc? Thanks.
Johnny_D
It looks bloody marvellous! But I worry about the idea of 'internal' ball bearings and stuff. If they get a bit of rust, or muck, on them it's going to be a pain in the ass.JD

PirateNinja415
that stem looks really nice. I think it'd look great with catalyst base
Perrj99
Anyone have ANY clue about the quality? I'm afraid to order from HookahHookah or SaharaSmoke because of the horror stories I've heard/read about their shipping methods, quality of stems, etc. But if this stem is not shitty like their basic "Stainless Steel Stem", I'd actually give them a chance and order this and a Catalyst vase. Damn it...lol

smarthobo
I have that stem. I found the best thing to do, regarding the ball bearings, is:If you're smoking by yourself, remove one of the ball bearings from the stem (they can unscrew) and use the stem w/o the ball bearing. If you're smoking with another person/group, remove both ball bearings and just plug the hoses when the other person is smoking.Ultimately, the "ball bearings" restrict the airflow significantly (especially after use, they get sticky from the shisha), but if you take them out it smokes fine. Also, if they don't include it, make sure to buy the hookah cleaning brush. The one they sent me when I bought it I use about every 5 sessions and you can notice a difference in how it looks/tastes as well. It's a really heavy stem, I haven't noticed any leaks... Overall, I would recommend it.
