Cybersist
Ok, so I really want a Stargate, mostly because of its looks. But there are many comments about the Stargate that make is sound like a less than decent hookah. From what I have seen, the base is poorly made and is highly suseptable to rust. Is this the only real problem with Stargates? My idea to prevent the rust problem would be to get some resin and coat the inside of the base as to protect any rustable parts. How I would do this, is not certian. Any other suggestions?TIA
Huskysibe
You just have to keep it clean. I know several people with Stargates including myself that have had no problems at all. They smoke great!Billy
New2Hookah
Meh...Stargates, I hear, aren\'t that great. So many issues people have been complaining about. There are some people, however, that have had success with one. I think Stargates are a dying breen. If I were you, I\'d listen to Husky... GiantSquid
I was sort of set on a stargate for a while, but honestly if you're going to go Taqseem I think the Spider or the Atlantis are a bit classier. Now I'm pretty much set on getting a Hobohookah, even though they are kind of expensive, I can't remember how many times a smaller, more portable hookah would have been useful.Stargates are cool though. Elky
On the subject of the Stargate, has anyone ever smoked out of an Espresso? Would it be a cost effective substitute or is it just a cheap knockoff?
PirateNinja415
one of my friends has the really small stargate, and it smoked alright. Haven't smoked out of the bigger one, but i think you can get a cheaper KM or Syrian that will hit better. Are those bases on social smoke new? I heard of glass Stargates awhile back (after I got mine from H-S of course... blah), and ran across the Social Smoke ones when I bought one of their marble Syrians. Zildjian
I almost bought a mya that had the same style stem as the stargate...but the guy at the store was nice enough to inform me that it wasnt solid brass so it would have rust. still made me sad...SOME ONE MAKE A SOLID BRASS STYLE LIKE IT!! .....with a reliable base
oolatec
The thing about the "regular" Stargates... well, one of many things, but this in particular... the acrylic threads on the base will strip before you know it.
