HooKendo
So I know a thread was made a while ago about what kind of music you listen to while smoking hookah. This time around though, I want to take that basic idea a little further. I want people to list a few of their favorite hookah music CD's, and ALSO if they would be able to send them to other members through e-mail/AIM/etc. I say spread the joy if you have some stuff that you know other members need to hear! So, with that, I will list my fav. choices. (Anyone who PM's me can get 1 or 2 CD's of their choice depending on if I'm busy)... 1)Banzai Republic - Where the Fun Starts Early In the Day (blissful electro-chill) 2)Cafe Arabica (Arabic chill/electronic compilation) 3)Air - Talkie Walkie (soothingly calm and earthy electronica) 4)Chillout '05: The Ultimate Chillout (combination of instrumental and electronic) 5)Chillout '03: The Ultimate Chillout 6)Chillout '02 and '04 (Good, but not as good as the other 2) 7)Junior Boys - Last Exit (Haunting minimalist electronica) 8)Imogen Heap - Speak For Yourself (Beautiful vocal indie-electronica) 9)Explosions In the Sky - The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place (Epic chill-rock) 10)M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts (Epic & beautiful synth-rock) 11)Iron & Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days (Serene acoustic chill) 12)Rachel's - Systems/Layers (Instrumental + electronic serenity) 13)Royksopp - Melody AM (Perfectly crafted upbeat electronica) 14)The Notwist - Neon Golden (Simplistic but complex indie-tronica) 15)Alan Braxe - The Upper Cuts (French House melodic perfection) I could go on for at least another 15, but I'll stop with what I have... Ghazal - The Rain (This is a 3 song, 65 minute live album that features the best sitar player singing Ghazals, Iranian Violin Player and an upcoming tabla player....this is a beautiful CD and if you like Old Classical Arabic music (Om Kalthoum, Marcel Khalife, Abdul Wahab, Oumeima Khaleil) you'll love this. Sariél
now that you have titles and artists to look for, might I suggest a peer-to-peer app? Limewire is very popular, or Poisioned is great on a macintosh. Yeah, I work in the music Bidness, but the RIAA can still kiss my ass.
uselessdreamer1
u look like the singer in my favorite band coheed and cambria. see!!!
Highpockets
I suggest Alabina-The Album. It's Middle Eastern Music fused with Gypsy Flamenco. Excellent stuff. I also double the suggestion of Khaled, one song in particular, Aisha, is very good. Amr Diab is always good (Habibi is very popular). For more chill stuff check out Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. HooKendo
If anyone's up for it, we could start a Direct Connect hub for chatting and sharing music all in the same place. I just don't know if there's enough demand for it...

HooKendo
Or, we could all just agree to join an already existing DC hub and share amongst eachother their. Only problem would be a minimum share, and the fact that a lot of people still don't know DC++...
