erufiku
Yup, it's that time of the year again. Even if somebody didn't notice the waist-high snow lying around the streets for the past few weeks, the Salvation Army, or any other bell-wielding charity, was bound to jingle some holiday cheer into his skull by relieving his wallet of a few coins or maybe even a bill or two.Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against charity groups. But when one can't go a day without being asked for money for this or that purpose, it just seems to become too much. What do you think?
TheScotsman
It's not only this season, it's all year long. The bell ringers are allot easier to tolerate than that guy on the telly pimping for some child charity. You know the one, they find some doe-eyed girl of 3-4 yrs, and try to convince you that you can save the lot with a dollar-a-day... or the "we received X tons of rice, and need help paying for shipping scheme. If they saved the dollars they are spending trying to beg from me, then they could ship their own damn rice.Stick to target stores, they threw the bloody ding-a-lings out. Cheese//
The streets are littered with beggars trying to get as much cash as possible before Christmas. The only beggars that piss me off are the ones that bring their children onto the sidewalk so that they get brain damaged by the emissions from the passing cars. Great, I feel such sympathy for the dumbass parent.I had a homeless guy telling me he was "closing up shop" on the 15th"shop" being standing in the intersection begging for money.SA is an interesting country.
