bigben09
I am about to buy a Hookah and I am thinking about going with the Stargate or a traditional one with an ice chamber. I want to know if they make an ice chamber for the stargates? also anyone that has a stargate do you but ice in the bottom water part?
Cybersist
Why would putting ice in the bottom of a Stargate be a problem? I already put ice in the bottom of my other hookah...
clickhea
dont bother with ice chambers, just throw ice in the base, and i wouldnt recommend a stargate either
bigben09
I didnt think it would because we put ice in my friends hookah, but do they make a ice chamber for the stargate? also is there a difference in the amount of smoke that i would get out of a 30" hookah or a 22". what are the benefits of having a 30" over a 22"

Scalliwag
Kinda like everybody stated but let's get to the nitty gritty of the smoke process at least how I see it.To get the stuff smokin you have to get it hot. Any cooling factors at this point is counterproductive.BUT once the smoke is created it becomes an entire different entity. It is subject to becoming stale and harsh. The cooler the actual smoe is kept the slower the harshness and staleness kick in.There is an extent to anything. To me at the moment the smoke is produced it becomes a perishable product with a short lifecycle. Just like any other perishable products like meats, etc. the way it is kept until time of consumption is critical. The difference between a great meal and food poisoning if you will.Granted this is a very extreme example but I think most seasoned smokers will agree that the basic principle is the same. After all everything from the cleanliness of the hookah, to the quality of the shisha, to the way it is "cooked" in every detail has an effect on the final outcome.I know that sounds a bit bizarre in those terms but from my experience that is my synopsis. Thoughts?
Sariél
Every time the subject of the ice bucket comes up, someone always says "Just put Ice in the vase instead".It is not an either/or situation. When I use an Ice Bucket, I put icce water in the base, AND pre-freeze salt water in the bucket. I find it gives me a smoother, cooler smoke.Unfortunately, MYA uses different size threads than the standard ice bucket, so it won't work on my MYA's. Someone needs to make a bucket that sits on top of the existing nipple/doohickey and doesn't screw directly to the stem. And the ice BOWL just seems counter intuitive and just wrong...PS: Does anyone know what that piece at the top of the stem that the bowl sits on is called? Since they sell them as accessories over at mya, I thought I'd find it there. No luck, its an "adapter".
