booya
i've noticed that the mya bowl makes my tobacco harsher then the traditional clay bowl. same set up all the time but every time the mya bowl gets hot and harsh. anyone else notice this? i've stopped using the mya and stuck with my little traditional bowl since it burns hella nicer.... speel
I found it that its all about heat management and your coals. I use this cheap blue bowl over tangiers phunnel. Works for me perfectly.

This is one of the reasons that I love the Mya bowl - it's deep enough to pack a full session without going to the brim. Also you can try less coals. If I find that a product is giving me harsh smoke, whether its the bowl, the coals, the shisha, or whatever, I go with less coal and a wind cover. Once the smoke is thick enough and before it starts to tickle your throat, take the wind cover off. If it gets harsh before you do this, simple purge the valve a few times. Add more coal as smoke begins to thin.
booya
ya i've tried the same technique with both bowls. always keep the space between the foil the shisha. i just find that the mya bowl gets hotter thus over heating the shisha to the point of harshness. i'll try underpacking even more and report back.
