djdriver88
Filled the base with water and put it in the freezer. Since mine is small (only 18" hookah) i left it in there for 30 minutes. Took it out and the water was ice cold but not frozen at all. Now I am getting 2x more smoke and it tastes a bit better as well. For those who havent tried this yet, give it a go. Bigger hookahs with bigger bases may need up to an hour to get the same result...its kinda like putting ice in there, but I cant fit ice cubes into mine cause the neck is too small...plus this way, you dont have to wait for the water to chill. GL and happy smoking
Canon
nope its not new, ive been too afriad to do it because i dont want my base to break, but some people put it in the freezer until a little bit of ice crystals form up.as for me, i fill the vase full of ice and the ice lasts for about 2 hours (tested it last night, and ill time it tonight)
mushrat
Ya, butting bases in the freezer eventually end up badly. You forget it one time or leave it in to long and its hello flower vase for the nights smoke session... On a side note, there is no lgical reason for the cold water to effect the smoke volume. You probably just got the ehat better managed this time.

He said when he did it, he was blowing rings nad the smoke was so thick they were just kinda falling to the ground and you could feel the chill when the smoked..i uno I liked it though
likespaceships
I leave my vase and stem in the freezer while i prepare the bowl and coals. It gives you a nice cool smoke. I never leave it in for more than 10 minutes though.

Try putting your vase into a cooler with ice while smoking it. I have tried this once before and it turned out great.

Maybe someone with 2 bases can fill one with ice-cold water and one with warm water, and transfer a pipe between the two to give us an incontestable answer. However the reason for a denser smoke could be because when the smoke is cooled down through the water it resists rising more then it would if it was hot. Additionally when the smoke goes through water it picks up some water along with it possibly making it heavier or denser. Just a thought.
erufiku
All of you who can't fit ice into their vases, I've found an easy solution Take a small pot, pour some cold water in it and throw a tray of ice cubes inside. Now, go on packing the bowl, etc. which should take you a couple of minutes. By the time you're done, the water is ice cold and the ice cubes will have melted a bit, so just pour the water into the vase and throw in some ice cubes.Never tried freezing my vase but given that I own just one hookah, I wouldn't want to risk...
