Having A Difficult Time Deciding Which Hookah To Purchase

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm Joey, from Portland, OR. I've smoked from a hookah a few times, and I'm to the point where I'd like to purchase my own. While I'm on a tight budget due to college and just starting my own business, I'm the type of person who would rather spend an additional $50-$75 if it means getting a much better model. I've been reading quite a bit on here, and I have a general idea of what I'd like:

- Decent size, preferably 30"+ but not a requirement.
- Sturdy base, so it'll be more difficult to knock it over.
- Excellent quality, craftsmanship, and durability. I want to purchase a hookah that will last me many years and hold up well to regular use. I'd like everything to fit as it should without leaks, and I don't want to worry about rust or any other common problems.
- Easy to clean. The easier it is to clean the more inclined I'll be to keep it clean.

I realize I'm asking a lot, and my budget of around $100 isn't much. If the above requests can't be had for $100, I'll save until I have what it takes to purchase a hookah that will meet those requirements. I'm looking at this as an investment I'll enjoy for years to come, so I don't want any crap biggrin.gif

I really appreciate anything you guys can do to help me with my purchase.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies biggrin.gif

My worry with those are the small bases. Looks like it wouldn't take much to knock them over at all. I've seen a couple pics on here of ones with metal bases that look like it'd take quite a bit to make them fall over. Other than that, I like the look of the second one.

When they are filled with water, they are even heavier. And they are heavy without water to begin with. I have the marble one, and it's just fine. smile.gif

As I have said in other threads, I don't use it much, only because I am afraid of tipping it over (due to me sometimes forgetting I am holding the hose) and breaking the marble. That would really suck! It does smoke great though... and the other one that I pointed out would no doubt smoke just as well!

Here's my collection... it's the middle one, of course:

Are you referring to a Stargate? They have metal bases that are very wide. Unfourtunatly, with a metal base comes the likelihood of rust, unless you get lucky and find a metal base made of a non-rusting metal.... but good luck with that.
