we got the porn, sorry, some of us mods also work for a living so we get stuff when we see it as fast as we see it. Thanks to everyone that reported the posts so we knew directly where to go. The scary thing is the IP exactly matched one of our long time and trusted members, so I think someone got to his computer. We're looking into it.

As for the J&R posts.

Yes, posts about him are being deleted. Almost none off you were around when Jimmy was doing his very damnedest to screw with this forum because he couldn't follow the rules. He decided th rules didn't apply to him and came back with multiple, and im talking 4 or 5 accounts to continue to make trouble. If he doesn't have the respect for this forum to follow the rules and then goes out of his way to cause problems, he doesn't deserve to benefit from this forum in any way shape or form. If soem of you would care to do some research you will find some of his posts from that time period and the majority of the members at the time screaming for his head for pm spamming and hijacking every post he could to push his wares. You all who have dealt with him have had great experiences, cool. But watch what happens if any of you have problems. It happened then and don't be suprised if it happens again. As for this decision, it was actually suggested by a different Mod, and the rest agreed.

This policy will not change. If you weren't there, then you are entitled to your opinions, but if you want to be taken seriously, do some research.

so i'm still a little confused (prob my fault, i'm a bit tired and probably missed something), are we not allowed to talk about JandR, or JandR's hookah's ? Either way, that is fine by me, i fully respect the mods decisions b/c they are what keep this forum together.

Ok, for quick background. The accounts by hookahetc,obsessedwhookah77546,jimmyzaid, and not listed phdinhookahs were all Jimmy of J&R. There were a few others that i didn't bother to look up. Look at the majority of the comments by the other members at the time. We are NOT just power hungry jerks, really. usually.

I assumed that there was a rational explanation. I'm not saying this as a complaint *or criticism*, rather a suggestion for the future, perhaps in situations like this a mass pm (simply because it would show up when you logged in, making it impossible to not see it) would be in order, just to keep the legitimate posters from feeling as though they are being abused.

*I know it would be upsetting to me to make several reviews, then because of a situation I was not aware and having no understanding of have them removed.*

I dont understand this. Okay so lets say hypothetically he did make some "fake" accounts and posted some stuff up so you remove all those posts, fine. I on the other hand am not him and have nothing to do with him so why wouldn't I post a review of his product like all the other video reviews I have posted?

Yes my videos are on youtube...and 5min, break, metacafe and pretty soon my own site coming in January. However this doesn't address my point.

I entirely agree with the mods on their decision if unfair practices with this vendor occurred on the forum. I have no problem with that. My problem is all of the sudden I can't mention their name because of something they did and not me. I see this forum as a resource for newcomers and experienced hookah smokers to share and learn information of what we love - hookah. Recently I've been so passionate with the hookah industry that I bring up this forum on my browser about 30 times every day. I'm not here just to chit chat and see simply what's going on, I actually try to contribute and as you've seen recently I've plunged into buying video equipment to do videos for you guys. Call it "giving back to the community" as almost everything I've learned about hookah has come from the hookahforum. I just feel like we are all being "punished" for the unfair actions of others. We need to keep a peace in this forum and diminish any unfair activities and the mods have done great jobs with that.

However the fact that I can no longer post my review that I have been asked multiple times by members of this community is highly upsetting. Even if all I'm allowed is to just post a link to youtube as I have done before with other products it wouldn't be fair if I couldn't answer all the questions that come when I do things like that which I always try to answer simple because we can't mention them anymore. I hope this post is not handled with "if you don’t like it leave yourself" because that's clearly not what I want. Edited December 11, 2007 by RayVer

I can understand both sides, the mods not wanting the unspeakables to gain any profit from a community they abused, and Rayver wanting to share his hard work. Perhaps some kind of happy medium can be reached? Along the lines of his post being allowed (the only exception, but with a FIRM warning about future posts, and a detailed explanation of the vendors reputation? Edited December 11, 2007 by Geiseric

You could always pm the person you want to express your opinion to and answer their questions. Same with youtube, you could post in your video descriptions that they should feel free to email you with questions.

But you're still lacking the whole random person who doesn't ask questions but is just looking at hookah reviews without signing up. Which I think is solved if you advertise in your reviews that you highly recommend them watching your hookah reviews on your youtube, hence where they will stumble upon the "unmentionable."
