Does Anyone Ever...

Get sick of smoking the really fruity/candy type shishas and just go back to basics. Al Amir Apple or Nakhla Double Apple...2 Best Smokes right now and something I dont ever see myself getting sick of smoking. That candy tasting stuff...or the stuff uberly sweet gets old quick with me.

What would be considered "traditional" shisha? I'm talking about the stuff that the Indian's and Arabic folk originally smoked out of the hookah. It's hard to beleive that some of this fruity and candyish shisha is what was originally smoked out of the hookah. Did they just smoke straight tobbacco? Man that would be harsh, I wish thinking about putting some pipe tobbacco in the hookah, but thought better of it.

Traditional..as in, the most traditional flavors. Apple, 2 Apple, Lemon/Mint, Grape. None of that Starwberry Shortcake Watermelon Raspberry and Blueberry and stuff like that. It just gets blahhh after a while IMHO. If you want some good shit...do yourself a favor and go get some Al Amir Orange and mix it with a tad bit of mint. Sit back and relaxxx. The best shit ever...seriously.

Wouldn;t know, unless i have soemthing new to try all I smoke is Tangiers K-peach all day.

don`t you ever get tired of smoking the same flavor? don`t get me wrong, i like kashmir peach and all, but i also need variety.

I think most people tend to get variety from the different flavours.

I'm not sure what else you could have. Apart from some flavours like BBQ or Jerky [WTF is Jerky?] Beef or something similar?

Actually, as far as I've learned, the orginal indian tobacco was stored/sold dry. You added honey to make a bowl for smoking at the time. The coals went directly on top of the tobacco. I have some of this, research "dirt" with the search engine. It's nice tasting but VERY strong. In the middle east until around 1986, the only tobaccos availible were unflavoured tobaccos like Zahgouhl. It was also smoked with the heat directly on the tobacco. Sometimes fruit juices or fruit itself was placed in the base to add flavour. Both are REAL strong ways to smoke. Thats why all the old pictures you see of people smoking hookah just show a bowl with coals on top.

Funny enough, I don't really get that tired of the k-peach. Im a creature of habit. I'll try something else now and again, but if that's once every few weeks i'd be suprised. ya, it's weird...so what else is new... tongue.gif

I ordered K-peach once from Hookah Company, it was my first Tangiers order and it sounded real good. The next day hookah company actually called me on my telephone (I live in MN, they are based in CA), and said they didn't have it in stock so I switched to blueberry (which is good). I was pretty impressed by HC customer service but dissapointed in no K-peach sad.gif

Tangiers for me all the way! BTW my med phunnel came from H-S yesterday (what a difference--3 hours into still-in-humidity-shock-because-we-couldn't-wait blue gumball, probably 3/4 of the bowl was pristine!) This morning, my kitchen smelled like blueberry muffins!

And Mush, you were right about having to remove a phunnel from heat after ~2 hours of smoking to cool it down!

I;m done with Starbuzz now. I can't handle the fakeness of the flavors. AF has mroe realistic, although not as strong, flavors.

I'd get Romman over Starbuzz but I can't get it locally and it's expensive.

AF is fine but it feels a bit weak at times, not to mention the mediocre size stems.

PEACH is slightly sweet, not pungent, and fruity enough. Imo it's the flavor with the most re-smoke value unlike something like pumpkin pie.

Wait...you don't know what jerky is? It's like....dried...meat. Wow...you know what? I don't think I even know just what is up with jerky.

On topic: yes, I do get tired of the candy flavors and sometimes just need to get back to the basic fruit flavors. SB X on the beach does me right, almost too right....like buzzed after 15 minutes and can't go on.....but I think that is because I have never been able to do fruit punch drinks.

interesting i don't really like kasmir peach that much it doesnt taste like peach IMO. Maybe I am packing it wrong but it doesn't smell like peach either. Not a fan of the ginger taste so I ordered some passion fruit hopefully that will be better.
