SmokingDjinn
So I was smoking some Al Waha apple, and I pulled the coals off and it countinued burning. I assume this is not what you are trying to accomplish with the coals right? Am I just using too many coals? boulderkid303
Pack a little less and use a little less coal next time. Should be fine.

Cybersist
Or what you can do is use the technique for your foil where you lay your normal foil, make a foil ring for a spacer, and more foil over top of that, creating a nice space between the tobacco and coals, minimizing burnage. SmokingDjinn
I'm going to try using double the foil, anyone else do this? Any tips?
NoPeace
the thing is that your always gonna burn a little bit no matter what just because coals are really hot and tobacco burns. how much of it are u burning. also the bowl gets really really hot, sometimes almost as hot as the coal, so naturally its gonna burn from the heat of the bowl. Patzke
Try packing it differn't. Whenever I used to pack my bowls rather tight, it would tend to burn faster 'on it's on.' Where as packing it looser i find it harder for it to burn it's self.
Geiseric
It really depends on the texture of the shisha, too. Your packing methods should change depending on the consistancy, depending on personal preference and previous experience. After smoking for a while you will find your own methods for avoiding the nasty burn. Sometimes it is inevitable, and you just have to pull off the foil and let it sit for a while, and then try again.
