gaia.plateau
There was some interest expressed in this a while back but my camera was in repair so I couldn't take any pictures... so here it is, my first hookah, the somewhat leaky and shoddily made but still stylish Spider Hookah, from smoking-hookah.com. Jeff_T
Looks exactly like some syrians my friend brought back from Israel. I've smoked out of one that was silver/wood and blue base. It was a very good smoke and hookah was airtight. They are nice, but he's asking $150. Good luck.Does that unscrew in the middle and above the tray? Good luck.Does that unscrew in the middle and above the tray? This pipe was $93, but yeah as I said there are some leaking issues, the purge valve isn't great, the grommet is a lip-style which pretty much guarantees a small leak, and the type of steel used oxidizes easily. I bought it for the look, before I knew very much about hookahs, and I still love it for the look QUOTE (hookah hippie)Nice looking pipe, although the wood makes it hard to cleanNot too bad, actually. I just pour a bit of lemon juice & baking soda into the stem, shake it up a few times, rinse, repeat, rinse, and dry. I have noticed some very small erosion in the wood, but since I started being careful not to get the outside of the stem wet, I haven't had any problems. I just asked for a "spiraly-swirly" design in gold and green. I love the bowl, works better than my medium phunnel. I'm about to set it up right now, actually. gaia.plateau
QUOTE (Estariol @ Dec 14 2007, 05:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I was really close to buying one of these. i'm really glad to see that there's an article on it now. how have you gone about trying to fix the leakage? It's really odd, actually. The leaks in the stems seem to come and go. I've found that a bit of saran wrap fixes the leaks in the grommet, though it's a bit of work to cut it just right so that it doesn't show. I haven't found any effective ways to fix the minor leaks in the stem when I do notice them.I mostly only use this pipe for parties or when there's more than 3 people smoking with me... otherwise I just rock the bambino, which hits just as good anyway.
