thecoalition
syrian bowl packing technique:ok its been a while since ive packed my syrian but this is how i do it. sprinkle the shisha in, breaking apart the clumpy pieces. you want it fluffy in this bowl because the holes in the bottom will get blocked. i always sprinkle in to make sure the bowl is breathable so heat can distribute evenly throughout.lastly i take the poker on my tongs and run it through the foil down through the holes in the bowl to make sure they are clear. takes some practice but you get it quickonce done, take 1 sheet of foil (i use 1 sheet of reynolds hd) then poke 3 rings of holes in it using a nail meant to tack up a picture frame. then i break a 3 kings 40mm into 1/4 pieces (for this small bowl only) and use three of those pieces.should smoke like the below pic: (and yes my bowl is permanently burnt on the outside (the black parts) because i used that bowl for 2 years of smoking)

sss8789
I use AF too, but I have to much flavor. I pack my bowl (mya standard) about half way up and then I poke a lot of small holes it the foil. I hope you can figure out how to get more flavor because AF is really good. Eifah
Yeah I've been smoking Romman in my Egyptian 26" and I've been having problems getting a lot of flavor out of it. The smoke is good, but I can't taste peach at all. I use the little golden coals, usually two of them with one kind of leaning on the other off to the side. At first I used to fill up the bowl all the way, but then when I would put the coal on the foil I could hear the shisha sizzling, because it was burning I think. I used way less the last time and it tasted a little better but barely lasted an hour.Any ideas?
NoPeace
but does the hookah make a difference, like does since mine is corroding, does that make a difference
Altron
I'd try a different brand of shisha. I've had problems with flavoring while smoking Al Fakhar. Also like someone said check out your management. What I would suggest is1. Stop smoking so much, it really kills your taste buds. Esp if you smoke cigs (I do =/) you wont enjoy the flavor as much.2. Clean out your hookah and all its parts with lime juice and hot water. Hang your hose out to dry.3. Check out your coal before placing it on top of the bowl. If you use quick lights, let all the black burn off (its all bad chemicals that you dont want). Hope this helps
thecoalition
To actually answer your question: YES corrosion will affect the taste of shishaclean youre hookah with hot water and lemon juice first. then let everything sufficiently dry out.if you are using a washable hose then wash it as well, if not it could be the hose itself.if you still get nothing then i would try to get with someone who has a decent hookah and try your shisha in their hookah. if it tastes fine when you use theirs then its probably your hookah.
