Thick Smoke..help..

Ok ...so i have a normal hookah and i used nahkla flavoured orange,lemon, and pistachio(each seperate bowls)..and pistachio came so damn good and thick and i dont know how it happened... + normal syrian hose + clay bowl .I dont know what to tell you else

Pistachio... there is no way you can get it wrong. What ever you do, it will smoke like a dream. For the rest try a bit more heat but not a whole coal. if you have a windcover put it on. If no get a piece of alum. foil (about 12-14" long and make a hollow cylinder that would fit around your bowl with 1/2 inch gap. Again if you mentioned type of coals it would be better. Nakhla is a solid smoke you just need to get the heat right, a bit more than normal but not too much.

With makhla, yes, Just use a fair amount of heat and make sure you move the coal around the bowl every 10 mins or so. Just dont let it sit there for the whole session. Also, look in thereview section for Nakhla to see which are the favourite flavours of the forum

aaaaaa ic ic..10q so much.. is it a characteristic of a flavour to have less thick smoke for example? or is it about the heat ?

Heat is most likely your main cause of the problem. Too much or too little heat can both hurt your sessions success. Try adding another coal, breaking it in half, moving them around. Takin them off, ETC. Experiment with it, you'll get it. wink.gif


Most flavors from makhla, or anyone, are going to smoke pretty much the same, you'll learn eventually learn what flavors react in what ways. Edited by Patzke

What worked for me is that crazy "foil with tiny holes + foil ring + foil with big holes" method. Got Nakhla to smoke like a dream that time. But it takes like a quarter of an hour to set up...
