Is There Really A Difference In Hookahs?

ive been smoking for a while and i dont like asking this question because it makes me feel like a NOOB..
but here it goes

as long as the pull isnt hard and the vase is good and your downstem is good.

is there much difference in smoking different hookahs (i really only smoke full sized hookahs, havent gotten into minis yet)

Edit, the question is. if you have 3-4 good hookahs of the same size, different types of hookahs. is there a difference in quality of smoke between the hookahs? Edited December 16, 2007 by Canon

mwuhahaha!! its not a huge difference like i refused to smoke menthols when i was smoking but its like coke pepsi maybe?

of course size matters. The larger your hookah is the cooler your smoke will be. And i think the quality is very important. Cheap Hookahs corrode very often. Had 2 and they both did. High qualitiy and more expensive Hookahs dont corrosate or not so fast!

The bigger the base, the better your filtration and smoke capacity...

Style of heart chamber will affect ease of draw...

Apart from that the only differences are how long it will last, how easy it is to clean, and personal aesthetic preference.

There is significant evidence against this theory and none for it... as long as your water is even slightly cold, stem length won't make a difference. Ice water in my 12" gets the smoke just as cold as ice water in my 28".

aww... i have a mya chic... its got a girly name, and its small..

size doesnt matter with hookahs. as long is the design is correct and the openings and shafts are wide enough consistently, the smoking part is all up to the user. this is where i say yes, my mya's downstem is not alot bigger than my old chinese one but it is enough to make me say the hookah is much better. also, on the chinese one, the holes in the heart were very small, but it was not a common chamber like the mya, so it purged much better. craftsmanship has alot to do with the life of the hookah. if its shitty, it wont last as long.

I've smoked hookahs from 6 inches to 36 and i own hookahs from 8 to 30 inches, i have to say i can really feel the difference of minis (15-20), mids (22-26), large (28+), Xtra large (35+) As the hookah gets larger, flavour gets better, smoother and helthier. on the other hand smokes becomes less dense and not as "milky". IMO The perfect sized hookah is 28-32 inches. A good quality extralarge hookah is able to overcome its weaknesses by using wider hoses, stem and heart holes (even more holes) but i've yet not come across a mid or mini pipe that is able to overcome the lack of smoothness and flavor against the larger ones.

i got 2 different kinds of hookah a real small one ( Mya QT) and a bigger one Nargilem NP 450 ( 48 cm large) and i think the smoke is cooler because of the higher stem! The vase is of course also bigger but im of the opinion that a larger stem makes your smoke cooler. Of course the vase is also important. Smaller Vase = lesser water => easier to heat up

I have 6 or 7 hookahs, of varying sizes, some same size etc etc. YES there is a huge difference between all of them. There is differences in both smoke thickness AND flavor. I have used all the hookahs set up EXACTLY the same way and there is still a rather large difference among my hookahs. And this is not some barely percievable difference, rather a very noticeable difference.
