NoPeace
Is it a bad idea to use hookah to relieve stress since it relaxes you and gives you a good buzz?
shisha fan
not really (apart from the physical effects on your lungs), but i don`t see the connection with mental health.
waterboi
I don't see it as a bad idea at all. It is actually very relaxing after a day of work or anything. Kinda allows you to just chill.
thecoalition
similar to smoking cigars or cigarettes, hookah is a relaxing social activity or solo as well. it is good to just sit and smoke puff at a time. may be beneficial to mental health however no official studies have been done on that. gaia.plateau
Any substance that has the ability to make you feel more relaxed, happier, or more focused has the potential to cause psychological addiction... apart from the chemical addiction that can be caused from the nicotine intake.I think that if you frequently use hookah as a crutch to relax yourself, calm yourself, focus yourself, or etc., it could potentially be damaging to mental health. Elky
I follow the mentality that anyhitng in moderation can be beneficial to mental health. With obvios exceptions that is...
PirateNinja415
it could become mentally addictive i feel. If you depend on a certain thing to rid you of your stress, it could lead to dependency imo. that being said, my hookah is what got me through finals, lol. wouldn't have passed with out it

The first few posts above yours didn't mention it and I was getting worried. The same goes for anything, though. Drug or not. Using it to relax constantly is the main leading cause of phychological addiction to anything. However, its much worse if dangerous drugs are invovled.
