AmunRa
Hi Everyone,I was looking at some old trhead posted my Lord Dorian where he suggested using warm water in the base. I have been doing this for years, and my first thought was yeah...right. But, I must say, it does work! Now, I will say this: I am smoking kiwi-strawberry (Fusion) and it has always been dry and just a little on the not-quite-right side of flavor. I tried the warm water trick, and it has made this flavor come alive. I suggest you guys try it if you have a flavor that is a little lacking in your taste. What can it hurt? Thanks for the tip Dorian!I'm going to go hookarize some more now...this is great.

erufiku
How warm does it have to be?
AmunRa
I know, I can't help it. I'm new and I never look at the dates on these things. To answer your question, I haven't got it all figured out yet, but I can tell it depends on the flavor. I usually go about half way between luke warm and wow-thats-way-too-damn-hot. I fill up the base and let the water cool a little while I make the bowl and lite the coal. You really have to play with it and see what works best with each flavor and brand. If you go too hot, you'll know. If you're too cold, it won't do anything for you. That's about the extent of my knowledge at this point. I am still tweaking the process.Excellent suggestion though! Another good one is to use lemon jiuce to clean out your stem. It REALLY gets all that gunk out of there and leaves it smelling fresh. It does not affect the flavor the next time you smoke either. Cheers!

EternalSoil
well it wouldnt be hot compared to the temp of your mouth, it would just be a lot different than ice in the base!
