danguarda
damn it doesn't work... it works when I copy it from one web browser to another, but not when I copy it in here...weirdanyway, the hookahs are the syrian glyph and syrian chiller on the hookah-shisha site... Soup
Out of all the ones you posted, the social smoke bohemian (non-screw in) is the best.
danguarda
Any reason for favoring the non-screw in?
mushrat
From what i have read around here, plus my own firguring, threads wear and can't be replaced. Atleast you can buy another rubber gasket for the traditional shove in stem variety.
uselessdreamer1
unless its a mya which i have researched about.
Soup
Any reason for favoring the non-screw in?
Personally, I wouldn't trust the screw-in feature for airtightness (is that even a word? )
uselessdreamer1
if its a mya they will replace it for free.
Teufelhund
Hi guys, it's been a long time since I was on the forum. Nice to see Adrock finally culled the nuts. I have had a 24" Mya for almost three years and rarely use any of my others. It's just really well made and seems to smoke better. Both of the Bohemians from Socialsmoke are MYAs and normally I would agree that a screw-in is not a good idea but the mya uses silicone o-rings so it's really airtight. One thing about the MYA - unless it's changed they use Lebanese style (male stem) bowls which is ok but you usually can't just go to the local middle eastern grocer and pick up a replacement. So if you go with a MYA contact Ali at socialsmoke and get an extra bowl. (or 2) He has them in stock but I didn't see them on the website. Just my 2 cents. ZAP
My Mya smokes brill. Mya also has excellent customer service. I bought a Mya hookah from abroad and I lost the tray. The website does not support ordering from overseas so I emailed them and they sent the replacement 100% free of charge. They didn't ask for the $7 tray cost or the high shipping to the UK. As for the bowls, the top part unscrews and i'm pretty sure both types of attachment are available. Mine came with the male egyptian style one. Mine is a small standard one with the grommet. danguarda
OK very cool, so last question: your 24" Mya (Teufelhund) and your Mya (ZAP) are acrylic or glass/bohemian base? I'm deciding between a mya acrylic and the bohemian from social smoke...
uselessdreamer1
the glass ones i think look better.
Teufelhund
Mine is Bohemian. When I bought it the acrylic bases all looked like the plastic 2 liter coke bottles are made from. . . . The new acrylics look a lot better - better clarity and colors, and the new ones are a little more scratch resistant but if it needs to be scrubbed to remove a stain you will need to be really careful so it doesn't get scratched up. I've also read that acrylics won't break if dropped although I've never seen anyone try it to see what happens. The day get the urge to bodyslam a hookah just to see if it breaks I'll switch to cigars. Oh, sorry. I haven't posted in a while so I'm running on and on. . . . Basically overall glass, bohemian or otherwise, looks better and is still easier to clean.
uselessdreamer1
glass is also more stable for the larger hookahs, plus its more traditional.
