Anyone else play this? My friend recomended it to me so I went and got it. I was a big fan of Diablo and Diablo 2 when they came out and this was made by the same guys. It's pretty cool, and remind me of Diablo. It is kind of like a MMORPG but no monthly fees.

Some people gave it bad reviews but I personally like it. If you played the Diablo series you might enjoy this.

I played through this in the Razor1911 sort of way...

I wouldn't recommend that anyone spend one penny on it. Some of the most repetitive gameplay I've ever seen, total lack of story, and terrible mechanics. Two of my friends actually bought it and played online for a bit... it isn't actually an MMORPG, you just join people from a lobby and play through bits of the incredibly mundane storyline together slashing, shooting or sundering apart hellish monsters for no reason made apparent to the player.

If people like games like that without monthly fees, I've heard Guild Wars is good.

I'v playd GuildWars and Diablo 2 LOD, pretty solid games but very very boring after a while.

Hellgate London just looks like any old MMo

Worst game EVER.


I preordered that piece of shit plus played the beta. I wish I never opened my retail box and just took it back when the beta keys for retail expired. Waste of $50, patches never fixed anything, chat sucks, partying sucks, same levels over and over again. Then you have the sweet, travel from 1 level which uses the Necropolis skin to the next connecting level which is a fricken subway station.

I played for about 3 weeks on retail before quitting. Played all the way through on Elite mode as well.

I would say Blizzard got a great laugh out of it.

Mechanics are everything for me. I like how DnD based games actually tell you damages, NWN did a good job. I think I still need to play those two KOTOR games.

if you choose not to pay the monthly fees you are given access to the basic game. If you CHOOSE to pay 10.00 a month you are given bonus content. The game looks great but it seems too much like Diablo 2 meets Guild Wars.

I really like MMOs with a persistent world. I play WoW and SWG. I own GW, but there is not enough content other than it being free to keep me playing. I will be playing Age of Conan when I build my new gaming rig.

def a huge waste of money on that one. i bought the special edition like i do with all games....and i wish that i had listened to the guys at work who said dont waste time or money on it. i played it for about 15 levels before finally saying...wow this is a terrible game. good thing i have cod 4 to keep me company.
