My Superman Bambino--plus Other Tips And What Not From Me

Yesterday I braved the all intensive and annoying DC work traffic and christmas shopping traffic to visit the guys at Mya once again. Its nice chatting with them every once in a while. Bought myself a new Bambino and a few extra things for the other Myas. Took a trip to the gun range afterward to alleviate some of the wait of sitting in traffic for the return trip.





Comparison of Mya tongs on top to Social Smoke on bottom. I prefer the Socials as they grip the coal 10x better. However, for all my tongs I bend them as shown in the photo for better hold. For Mya tongs, you can also roughen them up a bit with some low grit sand paper. In my opinion they are far to smooth which causes bad hold of the coal.






Last but not least, this is my hole pattern for both the phunnel and super chief. Only half is done as I was smoking half a bowl, but for a full bowl I just continue the design all the way around. Doing this for half a bowl has never caused me an issue. Since only 1 person is smoking there is no need for a 3 hour bowl.

I was thinking of trying the half bowl a long time ago, but I was afraid the bowl may crack if there is no Shisha on one side of the Phunnel. So it works out pretty good for you then? Can you post up a pic on how you have it loaded before you put on the foil please?

I have the large Phunnel too and when I put it on my Bambino I still laugh because the dang bowl is as big as the Hookah!!! Surprising enough, it smokes very nice with it. Edited December 23, 2007 by Snoopy1966

If there are only holes on half of the foil, then the tobacco must be loaded in that pattern on that part of the bowl. I dont know how it would work otherwise.

how do you pack half a bowl... do you just pack it completely full on one side and leave nothing on the other side or do you put foil or something else on the other side?

Yes that really is my question is how you pack it. Do you overfill the half of the bowl? Obviously I knew you would put the coals on the side you have the Shisha and hole pattern.

Pack it the same as a regular phunnel. Just I only put tobacco half way around the donut. Then just remember what side has the tobacco so you punch the holes through the proper side. I do not fade the tobacco out on the edges or anything. It just stops at the half way point.


To shorten. Leave half the bowl empty, pack the half just like you would a full bowl. Dont need to overfill or put anything on the other side.

Thanks, that is what I was wondering about how you pack it if you 'fade' the shisha or just leave a nice full half bowl with the shisha pilled up. I could not think of a word to describe like you said to 'fade'

Oh French Toast. I went out to get some things and I went by my local shop and they are closed. I called a left a message. Sometimes they open late. There was a couple of elderly men wanting a cigar to smoke and I offered them to come over to have some Shisha, but they declined. I guess I will have to rough it with the 7 flavors I have now

I went back to the lounge and the 2 men were in there enjoying their cigars. I talked with them and I showed them Tangiers and all the wonderful smells it has. They both siad it smelled really good and they liked how it looked. I said I will pay for a session for you if you want to try some...still did not want any.

I bought Orange Soda, Horchata, and Vanilla. Right now I am having Blueberry mixed with the vanilla. Very very excellent taste this combo has. The vanilla seems very sturdy to the humidity along with the Horchata and Orange Soda. Does anyone notice this between different flavors of Tangiers? Like the Peach Ice Tea is picky and you can smell the changes as it acclimates. I let the Vanilla out for about 1 hour and no smell change. I mixed about 20% Vanilla and 80% Blueberry. I do not know if I could smoke the vanilla all by itself. Very powerful taste and smell.

yea snoopy io noticed that some tangiers flavors are easier to pack then others as the humidity changes but u can adjust your set up to compensate for the weather. buy the tangiers mint choc. chip too!
