Scalli Mod Super Cleaning.

Recommended Posts

oK, so soaked it in Ultra-Strength Mister Clean to start with, over-night (actually alittle more, like 16 hours). I then proceded to try to scrub the rest of the gunk off with steel wool.

SHit stayed. Then i soaked it in bleach over-night. Scraped it. No luck.

Next was Baking soda and lemon juice and vinegar, all in one. I htough, Hey this has to do something. Nope.

Then i boiled it. Then i boiled it in Baking Soda. Then i boiled it in Vinegar and baking soda. Then i steel wooled it. The gunk came off 1/3 of the bottom.

So now i have a completely gunked up Mod, and i can't remove any of it.

Ohh yeah i also used Lemi-Shine.

Anyone know how to completely RAPE the gunk off the glass?

heres what I do... get a small plastic container and fill it up with water just enough to cover the scalli mod once its inside.

Get some powder dish detergent (I bought a big box at the dollar store) and fill up the mod with powder.. wet it, rub it in a bit and fill it up with powder again. Drop that into the small container with water (with the powder still on it) and leave it over night. the next day when you go clean the mod it should be easy just scrub it with a towel and get all the gunk out.

This is what I do all the time and it leaves my mods looking new. Edited by RayVer

boil water throw the mod in the boiling water add baking soda(a decent amount)

about 10 mins in take the mod out and take an object liek a knife and scrape the stuff off, most of it will come off

then throw it back in th epot for another 10 mins or so

btw to prevent all the horrible buildup, coat your mod with cooking oil before you pack your bowl. Edited by clickhea

I used Lemi-Shine, which is like a more powerful detergent, and did exactly that. A little longer than overnight as well. ANd i used a knife too, it's cemented.

hmm,

I just use a scourer and a knife to take off the chunks, then leave it in soak overnight in bleach and washing up liquid.

Clean as a whistle. But I do this EVERY TIME i use it.

JD

I found a scourer under my sink, and a knife has not been working. The scourer kinda got the gunk on the inside of the Mod, but nothing on the out. ANd as i said i did use bleach, to no avail. sad.gif

There is a solvent called Oil Eater. This stuff eats grease for breakfast and caked on tar for dinner. Just leave anything you need cleaned in this stuff over night. I never cease to be amazed at what it can clean. I found a knife one day that was covered in baked on SALMON ROE and abandoned, practically impossible to get off all the way with anything other than this. It also took the smell off.

Worth every penny, trust me.

You can also find it at Sam's club if you have one in your area.
