does everyone besides hookah smokers think a hookah is a ... or another way to smoke ...? My mom doesn't like it because it looks "like a ..." People can be so stupid. I find that so many people don't know what it is and I frequently get "ohhh... thats tobacco that you were smoking in that picture." I was just wandering if anyone else has noticed that

Ah ya actually im just fine with that. I would have no problem with a 50 some year old coming up to me and asking me whats that for kid? Its not like you can blame them for thinking it may be for something else.

I def. agree with you. Everyone in my house knows dat I smoke Hookah except my mom because I know she's totally gonna think that's it used for something else :\

Some friends and I were smoking yesterday, and as we expected, the neighbors called the cops. Turns out one of the deputies who responded to the call was my friends brother in law. He sat down and puffed with us, and then proceeded to tell the neighbors to screw off in the politest way possible while we smoked with a cop....It was funny though, they all like straight up did a sting on us...was the best night ever.

its kinda annyoing but i've gotten used to it and can easily convince people that i only use and only have ever used it for shisha.

This has been brought up in several different posts. Its one of the reasons my dad will not let me keep a hookah.

Me and my girlfriend went to go smoke in a park at night. I had to stop at a gas station just to fill up the base because we had no water with us, and I let her carry the hookah into the park. Right when we were walking to the park, she dropped the base in the grass and all of the water came pouring out... . There were houses all over the place, so instead of having to drive all the way back to the gas station, I went up to a house and asked him to fill it up for me. He looked at the base funny after I handed it to him and he shut the door to go fill her up. He came back and examined it again, and asked me "Is this drug paraphanalia (sp?)?"

I just told him it was a vase for some flowers I got my girl for Christmas and that the "vase" fell over while I was driving. He just said "Oh" like he was unconvinced and handed it to me. He was an older gentlemen, so he probably thought I was lying to him. We smoked right across the street from him.

I didn't have time to sit there and explain to him that I smoke tobacco out of it. Like other said, you can tell them plain as day, all day, that its only being used for shisha, but people still doubt you about it. Not only that, but I planned it to be only me and my girlfriend to smoke.

My friend and I have made an effort to smoke in public places, where they allow smoking. We frequent a starbucks that kind of sits on a hill, the view is nice. The staff is fine with it, but some of the people get butt hurt, but because we are within our legal rights, they are told it is their problem, after they have already bought their coffee, of course. Often enough people give us looks, once in a wile someone will ask and fell much better about what we are doing, and sometimes even try and like hookah! People who sit around don't mind as much compaired to somebody smoking a cig by them, we all know why.

So I leave you with this, smoke every where! Ask if smoking is allowed, be proper, and clean up your mess! Inform anybody who would be wise enough to listen, smirk at those who disapprove. Make sure the owners are fine with what it is you are doing, premission can keep the police from having to deal with somebodys pissy-fit by making you stop.

This is exactly what I've been wanting to do, but I completly forgot about it when I got my car. I believe one hookaher got kicked off a Hooters pourch after having smoked there plenty of times because that particular day the manager recieved alot of complaints. Starbucks was also going to be my place of choice.

I'm glad someone is doing it atleast. May have to do this before Christmas break is over.
