Bulldog_916
Use a lid of some sort, or cover, like Rayver does in his Tangiers lesson. That's my own observation. Never used the coil burners, I use a Bernzomatic torch. Love the exoticas tho. Edited December 24, 2007 by Bulldog_916
Zildjian
think a wind cover would work, or would that melt? lol
speel
I use a coil burner also, usually take about 3-5 mins and its on the first setting

mtbsolo
If youre annoyed by the wait, put them on your burner while youre setting up your hookah. I use a coil burner as well and usually put quarter sized chunks on and flip them once one side is red and they are ready in around 5 to 8 minutes. I like to see a good layer of ash before i put any coal on my bowl, be it quicklites, finger coals, or real naturals.
RayVer
like someone else suggest you should try the cover made with foil that I use in the how to set up tangiers video..It speeds it up.. I actually started doing this when I first got exoticas because I too noticed they took a while.
olooko
yea a cover does speed up the heating process, but it will also cause CO to form due to the lack of Oxygen. So do this in a well ventilated place. If your doing this in the kitchen use the fan.
likespaceships
A cover really makes a huge difference.Watch rayvers tangiers video and just make one similar to that.
Cybersist
I take a cover to a frying pan and use that, works and you dont have to make one out of foil like in Rayver's video
