For the most part I am able to smoke it from the get go. There have been a few occasions where the tobacco was smoking harshly out of a new box, so I'd let it sit out and it improved itself by the next session.

I acclimated mine for four hours and now its too dry to smoke. Not sure if it was already dry, but now its unsmoke-able

thats too bad sad.gif add in a couple drops of glycerin and it should be fine. glycerin is something which imo all hookah smokers should have at least a small bottle handy. i dont acclimate my nakhla, i usually smoke it out of the box and its fine.

I think I'm going to stop acclimating too, or maybe just for an hour or so. Do you add an equal amount of glycerin and honey? Or more glycerin or more honey?

Not NEEDED, but it probably helps, it is unwashed like Mush said. I have never smoked Nahkla without Acclimation. But i don't think that it is molasses-based tobacco. So it probably doesn;t need acclimation and will dry out if left for too long unattented. Nahkla does not need to be any dryer.

well I try to avoid glycerin cos i dont know what the effecs of smoking it are (should be fine) but I must admit, it makes the smoke smoother and the shisha wetter. you should put about 1 teaspoon per 50g of shisha, stir, leave for 3 hours. then after 3 hours its ready to smoke, just stir it up a bit more.

May I ask what in gods name acclimating is?

Basically leaving the box open so the tobacco is in direct contact with the room temperature air and humidity so that it can adjust to those conditions. Usually a few hours of this should do it smile.gif

I have never tried this before, but it apparently makes it smoke better... so I am going to try it with my tobacco as soon as I am back at university.

^ this thread may also help explain what acclimation is smile.gif

DO NOT acclimate NAKHLA it will kill the flavour taste and smoothness.

Nakhla is amazing to smoke out of the box, when not in use i close the box and leave it all in a big plastic bin.

if i let it sit out for two hours or so to room temperature, the smoke is always significantly worse.
