LiquidKernel
Just wondering, I'm recovering from a mild case of a cold, didn't really have a cough or sore throat, just a runny nose. Does smoking hookah irritate the throat enough to cause me to be sick longer or anything of that nature? If anything it's making me feel better I think
Cybersist
I cant think that it helps......but a mint flavor might soothe the throat
ZenSilk
Umm.. Well it always irritates the throat.. and if you have a gnarly sore throat just wait til it's gone...First of all that spreads your nasty germs. Second of all your body wont like you. But if you want to soothe your throat, mint tobaccoa ctually does numb out your soreness. You can actually add fresh mint leaves, crushed, tot he base, or drops of peppermint oil to the water or shisha. P.S. Ohhhh i forgot to mention you'll probably choke after a couple hits, even though it's not harsh. Edited December 28, 2007 by ZenSilk

EternalSoil
the only sick i have gotten in years is the allergys in late fall and sometime in spring. where the drainage goes from your ears and drains down your throat. i still smoke and i like ot think the pressue of smoking (suction) helps it.but i'm an idiot.btw my friend told me to get a rice/corn sack (you put it int he microwave for like 3 mins and it get tosty) and put it where i could feel the drainage (it gets kinda sore behind my jaw line) and man did that shit work! 1.5 days of light pain over 4-5 days of shit fuckign rocks! more time for hookah! Codename067
I never have Hookah 'cravings' when I am sick. Even if I do crave it, I don't think that I will smoke it.

Dom
i had a sore throat from smokin' the hookah too much, i think. when i put Halls in my base, it soothed my throat a lot. it's freakin' therapudic, yo! I know that you said that you don't have sore throat symptoms, but if you do in the future, this helps a lot. it's kinda like vicks vapo-rub,http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showtopic=15479
