boulderkid303
Mush said it was amazing, so I don't know. Do all the normal steps as in clean the pipe, hose, and load another bowl and use much less coal. People on here complain of berry AF not tasting like anything, and I blame that on coal managment. I get full flavor and taste from my berry. Just some flavors will taste like nothing because they are so light.
clickhea
so your saying tonic requires very little heat?i had 2 pieces of exotica on the bowli kept messing with the coals and coal placement, i eventually ended up breaking the coal into many pieces and putting it around the bowlthe problem is too little coals gave me no smoke, and too many gave me good smoke with no taste Edited December 30, 2007 by clickhea
boulderkid303
Well exotica's burn hotter than other coals it seems, so I usually use 3 small bricks on a small phunnel...get it going and then take one off. Try if you still got issues than maybe its not a good batch.

lyingsideways
If I remember correctly, I smoked a bit of that one before I sold them all, and I got a full peach-ring like flavor from the peach. I was using 1.5 golden coal quicklights on a small egyptian bowl (~10g) and got very thick smoke and full flavor. I didn't try it with exoticas. I don't really use anything but quicklights except for Tangiers, for which I'll use the same bowl with about a two inch long exotica stick constantly rotating around the edges, or a "brick of two" (half a stick) of japanese coal.QUOTE (clickhea @ Dec 30 2007, 05:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>loaded up a bowl last night, and i tasted almost nothing.. it smells amazing but the taste is not present at all....i then switched to cheese cake, and that ended up being pretty good.is the tonic peach not that tasty? it just taste like smoke. mushrat
I smoked the peach with exoticas and got a wonderful peachy taste..remind me of Pharoahs If memory serves. But hell, we all get bad bowls now and then, Sometimes at the bar I just have to repack a bowl for someone becaus eit just isn't smoking right. And I packed it like the other 40 bowls I'd already packed that day. Sometimes you just get a bad smoke.
clickhea
tried it again, got no flavor once againi noticed that the peach is alot dryer than the other tonics i have i wonder if that has somthing to do with itbut i tried white grape wine after i dumped out the peach and it tasted exactly like white wine
ZenSilk
Yeah dryness is a factor in those expensive shishas. my SB irish Cream has the same problem. It's terrible. It's also alot dryer than my Fuzzy Naval.
