Airspace Poll

Hey,

So I always thought that everyone left airspace between the shisha and the foil, except for tangiers, but I'm beginning to question that belief. I always have burned everything that was packed to the top, but maybe I use too much coal. If you do pack to the foil, clarify with which tobacco, what type of bowl, and how much coal. Thanks for the help (if you are smoking tangiers, then nevermind on the packing methods)

i always leave about 3mm of space between the foil and shisha. sometimes the top still burns a little but thats normal.
and you`re right about tangiers, you shouldn`t leave any space between the foil and shisha with that.

wow, I never would have thought that this would be so close, how do you pack something like starbuzz with no airspace?

I am guessing you use quick light coals of some sort, because any time I would use them, I did not like them all too much, so I practically only use naturals. the reason I mention this is because since quick lights are hotter, you might be burning since the tobacco is smack against really hot alum. foil... trying packing all the way up to the foil and then put on two 1" pieces of coal on the top on the edges. Should do the trick.

i said no, with every kind.

i used to with all i had (pre-Tangiers) but now i pack other kinds to the top as well.

even with nakhla, which i use a standard bowl for.

i find the only difference packing it lightly does is make your session shorter. not much difference in the smoke quality.

I agree with Canon, isn't it kind of pointless to pack such huge bowls if you were not planning on smoking for a really long time?
