thecoalition
+1 to the fact that everyone is allowed to review without getting shotguns pointed at themthough we may not agree with all of what was written because some people dont understand that shipping gets hung up during xmas time as the post is not open xmas/eve and new years/eve or closes early its ok.everyone remain calm and all will be well.im sure we have all given a bad review of someone or something.like frankie always said "relax. dont do it." gaia.plateau
QUOTE (The Devils Playground @ Jan 3 2008, 12:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Okay you order at Christmas time and expect the box with Free shipping to be there in 5 days? Dude you are where and we are in las Vegas. Yea one coast to another. Free shipping would be assumed to be Ground. Not to mention "he offered me an amazing deal" . I spent a couple hours on this sale dude. You know how long it takes in the shop to close a deal for a Mya QT? As long as it takes to fire up a fresh coal if theres not a bowl running. I have no problem at all fixing mistakes, Talking with people to make sure the picked item is right for them. But dude you are ordering at the slowest time of the year to get anything. The shipping was free and ground. I rushed it as fast as I got paid. What else can you ask for.?!I have to ask "sketchy info about worldhookah"? This will be interesting to see I am sure. And lastly "Im not sure if I would order from worldhookah again until they did something about their shipping process!" Well as for shipping Its after Christmas so shipping will be fast accross the USA again. BUt then theres the part thats being over looked. Will we take another order from you again? Probably not. Honestly we can`t please everyone but to get bashed for Usps shipping that was free at Christmas time? Yea I don`t think we will welcome your return business anyways. Do you really feel that this is a prudent business model? As a vendor you should be bending to your customer, and trying to alleviate their dissatisfaction, not blaming them for being dissatisfied. As it happens I don't think that this "Thomas" bloke had any reason to be unhappy, but that's not the point. There was another vendor here that blamed his customers for being dissatisfied, and he didn't do very well- go ahead and search GenuineHookahs and you'll be elucidated. The pink text hurts my eyes. Canon
i actually believe it was out of TDP control whether or not the customer was happy. he was just putting it into perspective, trying to defend himself as a vender.i dont think its justified to compare one vender to another vender based off of one case. everyone has a right to defend themself. thecoalition
as far as customer service goes you should never threaten a customer with not accepting their business again.it seems standoffish and may discourage others from trying a new vendor because of this type of reaction. It's one thing to disagree with someone's review, (and I don't think we can call 7/10 a negative review)... it's another entirely to express hostility and indignation at that individual personally, and/or to bar them from future transactions. Try to understand it this way- if all businesses refused to sell to people that criticized them, how would we know which were good and which were bad? And by supporting the notion that they are allowed to do this with impunity, are we not effectively committing ourselves to fascism? Bulldog_916
FedEx is pretty damn good with shipping, I cant say I'm not happy I work for them. BUT.....UPS is cheaper to ship through 9/10 times. Even Fedex has stuff shipped through UPS sometimes, and vice versa. You would think there would be some sort of rivalry. Every time I see a UPS truck at our hub I'm like "They aint from around here boys!"

kornkitten42
Well personally I think it's in bad taste for a vendor to make a public debackle out of something like this. I mean look at other vendors, they don't single out the people that give them ok or bad reviews, (if they are active on the forums, they go to pms and try to resolve the issue) It's one thing to PM, it's another to publicly bar a customer from returning, being hostile, and for a review of a 7/ 10.... I'd hate to see what would happen is someone said 2/10.... jezzzz...Take your compliments graciously, and take your negative feedback and learn from it instead of publicly calling out your customer.*P.S- to anyone else saying thomas is whining or being overly picky, Since when is someone not allowed to make a review of their opinion? He thought it should have been there faster and he has every right to review the company in that retrospect.

The Devils Playground
Okay I can just delete the guys orders assuming he would make that mistake again or I can be up front. If my side was slow I would hook him up to keep him as a customer. But it was not like I waited a few days to ship. I shipped the same day payment was made. He knew it was Christmas time. I assume anyways since Christmas is celebrated in every country that has even a single Christian family. If you are so new to the world of Ecommerce that you think everything is there over night then I should not be your dealer. We are simply saying its one less headache here. We sell 3-9 hookahs a day every day in this shop. This whole on line thing for me is a hobby (thats treated like a business) and theres no way I am going to get bashed for Christmas time shipping and welcome the customer back for it. He is 100% entitled for his statement. But I am also entitled to refuse service when I think it could become a hassle. I send people away form the shop all the time when I see a problem arising. It will be the same way on line.I am accused of being brutally honest. I would rather someone be honest with me then lie. I even warned him the shipping was on the bussiest day of the year. What else do you expect?Oh and I love how Vendors are jumping off of another forum just to come here and try to justify someone elses mistake. Lets face it, transactions are a 2 sided thing. We do Trade Reviews so people can tell how their transactions went from both sides. If a vendor thinks a customer was unreasonable, especially when the customer has gone public with their complaint, then the vendor has a right to publicly give their side of the story including any problem they had with the customer. It's not like The Devils Playground posted first. I mean, they didn't come out of the blue with a post about a problem customer. Hey, If you are going to complain about something, you better be ready to take it in return. Glass houses and all.... Glass houses and all....Mush, I don't think that anyone here is challenging or denying DPG's right to post anything... myself and KornKitten who you're replying to are just commenting that it is probably an unwise business practice to do it in such a hostile and inflammatory way.I won't speculate on KK's intentions, but my criticism was meant constructively - as a frequent buyer of hookahs and hookah accessories, one imagines that DPG would be interested in my business. This thread has effectively turned me away from ever buying there- character means a lot. For example...My recent thread about Hookah-Shisha was far harsher and more critical than Thomas'. What did they do? E-mailed it to every employee so that the dissatisfaction does not reoccur. That's why I will buy from them again in the future. Reviews, both positive and negative, should be used constructively by the vendor as tips for improvement... because an improving vendor is one that will continue to gain new customers. DPG, however, used Thomas' review (which I would actually call positive) destructively, to his own financial hazard. That's all we're saying... not that he shouldn't have been allowed to post it.Edit: as a side note directly to DPG... bold pink text doesn't make your post stand out... it just hurts our eyes. anathema
I thought thomas's post said that the exotica coals came in 5 days, and the mya qt came equal than or greater than a week.I am assuming the following:coals shipped beforecoals shipped separatelycoals shipped using a different methodcoals were freeqt shipped after paymentSo if I were to order and get free coals with my order, and I didn't pay, I'd get some free coals in the mail in <5 days? Now to deal with the real problem. Why should the vendor discourage business from thomas again? Afraid that thomas would write up another bad 7/10 review? All that's needed is an explanation to thomas as to why shipping was slow, aka xmas + new years. I'm pretty sure thomas would buy from worldhookah.com again if he was enlightened to the business working days of the shipping world.
Canon
anathema.. to update you on the situation..world hookah did a promotional where they sent a shit load of people free coals. thomas was one of them. a little while after thomas got the free coals, he ordered from world hookah. they talked on the phone for a few hours about the product and world hookah gave him a good price.the coals were sent before the holidays, the qt was sent during the holidays (see, the free coals came then he ordered the hookah)if thomas really wanted to know why it took so long, he could have brought it up with the vendor, but he wrote the review. the vendor.. upset about the fact that someone wasnt satisfied decided to tell everyone that he does have good service and the reason it took so long was due to the holidays.
