ExoticImports
I have had a few big booboos personally:)My favorite was in vegas at a hotel when we were using quicklites prior to Exotica being released. We lit 2 Unnamed quicklites, they exploded causing the carpet to catch on fire in a few locations. Me and my friend were trying to turn the fire off but as soon as we picked up the coals, they broke in smaller pieces and caused more burn marks. Eventually when all was done, the carpet had 15 burn marks ranging from .5 inches to 2 inches large. We covered it up pretty nicely. We went and bought bleach spray. We scrubbed the floor and tried to remove some of the black off of the floor. The we moved some furniture around and bought matching colored paint and tried to patch the floor. Beleive it or not, we got away. Till today, after 1 year, I have not been questioned or confronted about what we did. Mitch
Luckily I have not caused much damage yet. The most that's happened is that the bowl fell off with a lit coal on it and burnt my dorm's carpet and also got ash everywhere.

leadpipecinch21
nothing too bad, i'm pretty careful. the worst is when my drunken friend knocked over the hookah...the coal fell on to the wooden coffee table and burned a pretty nasty mark in it. then in his drunkenness he grabbed the tongs to pick the coal up where it cracked in to 100 pieces and sprayed all over my feet and the carpet, singing holes all over... Johnny_D
Destroyed a $20,000 kitchen work surface. So we had a brand new kitchen installed. All the work surfaces, flooring, walls, tiles the works. Every damn inch of the kitchen renewed...So I was experimenting with Nahkla naturals... Had the bag of coal on a heat-proof glass worksurface protector.Using a propane torch i was merrily lighting said naturals...So I light the naturals and go into the front room to smoke and everything is kosher right?WRONG So about 25mins into the bowl and i'm thinking everything is smoooth and everything is cool... then *BANG*!I think shit - Someone has fired off a shotgun.Only it wasn't a shotgun - It was the glass heat-proof work surface protector exploding. Everywhere! With a full bag of Nahkla naturals all nice and glowing hot in the middle of it the messBurned a hole about 9inches wide into the work surface.Turns out that during my flame-throwing session to light the coals, some small embers had fired off into the naturals bag and had set the whole damn thing alight.Mrs Johnny was suitably pissed off.Thank fuck we had insurance. resixpromo
Worse for me so far is burning about 15 or so holes in my carpet. Can we say goodbye deposit? One time a coal dropped and took about 5 minutes to finally find because it had somehow rolled off under a table. I have thought about buying a hard surface to keep under the hookah so the carpet wouldn’t get messed up but too late now

You can see them if you look carefully, but that is if you know where to look. I am hoping my landlord won't see them
GinsuGuy585
In my friend's Trooper there are burn marks all over the back seat.Luckelly I can smoke in my basement on an old 3'x4' desk. It is already discolored (parties in the basement) so a few burn marks don't matter.
Ralleac
Multiple coal burns on the floor.I'm buying 2 sheets of 4 x 8 sq. ft. sheet metal to lay down in my next apartment, a plug-in electric burner to heat the coals right over the safe area, and a couple more bean bags to throw around so the area remains comfy. I don't care if those burn, but I don't want the carpet burns anymore. Edited January 4, 2008 by Ralleac
OBY
Well before the invention of my hookah table we had burn marks and holes galore in the carpet.... Now since all we use are the tables... we have some ash on the floor, most likely cleanable with the carpet cleaner and vacuum.
EternalSoil
i would say other than the hole in my wallet would be when i dropped a 33mm QL on a rug my mom brought back from turkey that sat in the middle of the living room.she wasnt really mad at all either!when she found out like 3 months later! Snoopy1966
I have a few carpet burns and some on the kitchen floor too from an exploding QL. That thing went everywhere and burnrd tiny little holes all over. The carpet was not the greatest when I moved in so I hope that will fly, but I will be paying for a new kitchen floor....One broken vase also and the coal fell on my bed. I quickly grabbed the coal with my fingers and threw it on the tray. OUCH. It did not burn the bed though, I dumped my glass of water on the area to make sure. And there I was holding onto the stem with a broken vase attached to it still and burnt fingers saying about every nasty thing I could think of.Ouch for the doggies tongue. My one cat likes to smell the mouthpiece of the hose while I am smoking. He comes up and meows until I give him the hose.

Snoopy1966
Hmm not a cat person...lol He will even sit there if I blow a big cloud at him, and he will enjoy it. When I smoked cigs, he did not like the smoke from those at all.

My friend was holding the lit coal with tongs and let it slip. Then tried picking it up and it broke into smaller pieces. Now I light all my ql-s outside on the balcony and use a coal holder to get it to the hookah (best 0.99$ investment, hooray for Ikea's sales). resixpromo
I think the craziest thing I have done and still do is use one bathroom as a hookah setup...this means lighting the coals in the tub and packing bowls on the sink. My house is 2 bath but the way I use the other one I only count it as half
nitrousconsumed
three or four years ago i had my hookah in the garage, so one time my ex and i start smoking out there and i ran out of tobacco and was running low on coals, so when we finished off the bowl I went to the smoke shop up the street to buy more supplies. Nothing could've prepared me for what happened next. As I was making my purchase I get a phone call from a distressed ex and she starts screaming "The garage is on FIRE! COME HOME!!!" I immediately take off and speed home only to witness the coffee table I had the hookah on in flames and my ex and lil sister frantically trying to blow it out. (Yes, with their own breathe) By that time the flames were touching the ceiling, so I quickly go retrieve my fire extinguisher from my kitchen and extinguish said fire. Apparently she let the coals unattended for a quick second with a small fan blowing on them and the coals set fire to the fan which in turn started burning the table. Close call.
