ExoticImports
Good stories everyone!!! Keep it up. Everyones story kept me going and going, reading and reading to see what the next person said. The complete thread I started actually made me laugh in ways and made me read every single one, one by one instead of skimming. Weird how much shit we go through to smoke hookah and all the damage we cause to smoke, followed by clean up and expenses to fix damages.GabrielExotic Imports USALetsHookah.com
EternalSoil
QUOTE (nitrousconsumed @ Jan 4 2008, 08:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>three or four years ago i had my hookah in the garage, so one time my ex and i start smoking out there and i ran out of tobacco and was running low on coals, so when we finished off the bowl I went to the smoke shop up the street to buy more supplies. Nothing could've prepared me for what happened next. As I was making my purchase I get a phone call from a distressed ex and she starts screaming "The garage is on FIRE! COME HOME!!!" I immediately take off and speed home only to witness the coffee table I had the hookah on in flames and my ex and lil sister frantically trying to blow it out. (Yes, with their own breathe) By that time the flames were touching the ceiling, so I quickly go retrieve my fire extinguisher from my kitchen and extinguish said fire. Apparently she let the coals unattended for a quick second with a small fan blowing on them and the coals set fire to the fan which in turn started burning the table. Close call.HOLY SHIT! you got lucky as hell!

Canon
i was smoking in my mothers new house while she was away on vacation (i wasnt allowed to and if she knew that i was i would be in deep shit) so i was smoking. i decided to leave the house for about 15 minutes to pick up some food from the store. while i was gone alex my golden retriever knocked over my hookah and set my mothers carpet on fire (very very very expensive carpet) the fire ended up spreading to my mothers room and the kitchen. the fire department had to come in to extinguish the fire.. the damages added up to over $20,000. it destroyed most of my mothers art and antique collection, my dog had to go to the vet because of the smoke. i blamed it on the fireplace. dont worry though.. the insurance covered most of the damage, my mom bought the story which means im in the clear.. my mom only had to pay 4,000. which isnt bad. btw if you read this far, everything i just wrote is total bs, i have no good stories so i felt compelled to make up an AMAZING story. sorry. and im writing a little bit after this because i want to make sure everyone reads the whole thing. long story short.editmy mom wasnt very happy when she came back from vacation. triolus
Burn marks in the carpet here... sometime the coals have landed on my foot, but I've never had any serious burns (you'd be amazed how quick you can get that thing off!). hshah
One of my mates had picked up a fake box of Swift-Lights and when he was moving the lit coal it just crumbled into little bits all over the floor. It was a good thing I reacted quickly and emptied by beer bottle over the floor. Beer you can clean off carpet... huge burn marks you can't, lol! What a waste of Stella though
thecoalition
you guys need to go invest in a 20$ home depot area rug. ive had mine for 3 years and it doesnt catch on fire like a normal rug. its very short carpeting and when a coal lands on it it just kinda smolders. once there are enough marks on it i can just pick up the 5x7 rug and toss it out. plus the cats like to double it as a scratching post because it does not tear up at all. I was looking at getting a roll of vinyl, or the metal I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm hitting up Ikea today, so I might stop by Home Depot and grab one of those while I'm out. hshah
I keep my hookah in a box now, and that has cut down the burning quite a lot. I was thinking of getting a rug but it just wouldn't go with my university accommodation room as it is too small
mathuv
just a small burn mark on my friend's table. (tiny, barely noticable) and an insignificant bit of melting on his hose from when i dropped a coal and it broke.

It looked like a damn space craft took off on my friends carpet.I felt bad but he still got his security deposit back when he moved out. So its all good. bubbascigars
Stopped working and decided to open a hookah lounge and spent all my savings on buying many hookahs and tobaccos! But I am happy and smoke allot. And my lawyer tried picking up a coal with his bare fingers to see if they are hot after smoking several bowls of shisha. But other than that nothing big yet. Ralleac
So, I picked up a few 4'4" x 6'7" rugs for $14.99 ea. at Ikea along w/ some new furniture for my next apt. today. Hopefully it'll be enough to prevent carpet damage in the new place. For now, one of them can cover the burn marks here until I move in Feb. Many places make it a policy to refinish the apartments every few years, so sometimes people can get lucky like that. I've only been at my place for a year and five months, so I'm probably boned on the deposit. One area of my carpet is completely screwed, my ferret dug up a spot on the wall before I found out about his love of digging and put a stop to it, and my friend tried smoking my hookah while drunk and dropped a coal on the kitchen floor, which shattered and made a lot of mini-burn marks in the linoleum. The Devils Playground
We had just opened the new Hookah lounge. It was just 3 rooms in a seperate part fo the building so you could go smoke hang out and do what you wanted Hourly. Well to make a long story short. It was remodeled before we got it. All new paint carpet etc... My first party in there Yes the first customers took the back room and knocked over the hookah. Needless to say they did not have coals and the 3 Kings royaly burned all the way through the carpet, the padding and finally stopped with Water on the wood part of the floor. Many times customers caught the trash can on fire with coals. I can`t count the times I have had coals knocked on me. That has to be the worst stuff thats happened. JillyIsJustKidding
Not really my hookah, but my coals!I was blowing on one of my natural wood coals to get it nice and hot a few months ago...I guess there was an air bubble and the coal did a load "cracking noise" and some embers "jumped". Guess where they were heading? MY EYE!I closed my eyes just in time...and then I felt a burning sensation near the corner of my eye and then on my eyelid!A few days later..I got some small, sucky burn marks on the same places that I just described!Wow, it would've sucked if I DIDN'T close my eyes on time! There is another time my hookah did some serious damage to my carpet! My blow torch was standing next to it...that fell over, tipped my hookah (which fell to the floor) and ALL the coals that were on the foil broke ito small pieces and BURNED my carpet!I tried to pat them out. I thought I got all of them and then I smelled something burning still. I found an ember under my bed and went WAYYYY throught the carpet. I got that to go out, fortunately. But, I put my finger through the hole (no you perv lol) on the carpet and it went through the layer of carpet, then the layer of foam under that! I could pretty much feel the wood that was under the carpet, which sucked and I knew I did some serious damage. After that, I learned to never prop up my blow torch and just leave it laying on the floor. Now, I have black marks under my bed! Hehe I got them to be less noticeable by cutting them off with scissors But the hole under uder my bed wasn't repairable :\
kornkitten42
Besides the charred area under my hookah (it' the hookah spot!! lol) but at least 50 burn marks that i've had to pour coke on so it wouldn't burn anymore (the smell of soda putting out a soal is SICK *ick!*, a burnt book shelf, a burnt coffee table, lots and lots of burnt body parts, burnt fingers, hands, arms, legs lol, synged hair (my hair is long and I didnt realize it caught my hair on fire until i smelled it YUCK!!!) done this a couple of times,.... i hate it! lol I should keep my long ass hair in a bun!My cat cow, burned her nose and whiskers a little while ago trying to smell the bowl.... um.... the same cats paw a few days later (i guess she was trying ot get revenge and swat the coal?I think that's it? lol Edited January 8, 2008 by kornkitten42
