Windcovers And Phunnels

Recommended Posts

It's more about the distance from the bottom of your bowl to the tray... how much of a "drop" the tray has when you put it on your hookah, if you can dig it.

The Glyph, for example, would have a very hard time fitting a windcover over a medium phunnel because the tray is relatively much lower from the bowl than other hookahs.

You can always remedy this by sticking shit between the windcover and the tray, but that seems like work. Edited by gaia.plateau

large cover or phunnel?

I have the large windcover from H-S. It fits over the normal bowl onto the tray on my QT just fine, but I can let you know how it works over a large phunnel once mine arrives next week. It looks like there's 2-3 inches of room left in the windcover, but I'm not sure how much bigger that phunnel is going to be compared to the current bowl I have on there. Edited by Ralleac

i doubt i will get another large phunnel....

but a medium would be nice.

i have gone this long without a windcover anyways so...

Yeah, I kind of wish I'd ordered a smaller one. 50g is a lot of shisha to blow in one sitting. I might send in for a medium or small since I want to order some tonic.

On my hookah that windcover is VERY flimsy and actually if enough of a wind kicks up it can knock the windcover over....so just be warned.

i dont normally smoke outside.

its mostly to further my heat management perfection.

and for those ocassional breezy nights outside when its nice with the friends i dont have.

i have a small Tangiers phunnel and i can put 2 FULL sticks of exotica coals on and have good flavor and smoke the whole time with Tangiers.

i plan on actually timing a whole session some time soon.

Nice. I had my QT hitting well w/ good flavor for a bit over 2 hours the other day using some natural coals, but me and my friend were only idly puffing at it. The same setup a day later only lasted like an hour because we had 6 people on it.

I can't wait to get my tangiers and the phunnel. My Syrian should come in around the same time, so I can try them all together. biggrin.gif

Do the exoticas work about as well as the natural bags of coals? I've only ever used the japanese instant lighting and natural lemonwood coals. Edited by Ralleac

i have only used exoticas....

i was too impatient a long time ago with some other naturals and didnt wait for them to get red hot.

its nice cause they dont roll and if you score them just a bit they break easy.

when i smoke its usually while im on the forums at night or playing games.

also, i usually dont smoke this all in one session. it usually has a chance to dry out for a full day between the first set and the second 2 sets so it would probably last longer!
