ZenSilk
Ever called a support line or something of the sort, and you sit on hold for a while. You're ready to get talking and get your Xbox360 console fixed. The Halo Music stops abruptly, and you get a jolt of Happiness. You are about to embark on a journey to Fix Your 360!BUT WAIT!Something's wrong! YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE SUPPORT TECH. ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!WHYYYYYY MEEEEEEEEEEE!He is speaking in choppy barely discernable semi-English! You don't want to hang-up cause you have been sitting on hold for 20 minutes! SO you feel like a total DOUCHE for not understanding him.
OBY
I indeed had the same problem but not to the severity that you are having... I could actually make out what she was saying. But it only took a week and a half to get my box fixed and back.
Geiseric
I had a panic attack earlier this week when the vga out on my 360 started flashing and I thought I might be out of my xbox for a month. Luckily after some testing I found it was my KVM switch, which has been dying since I purchased it 3 months ago. That was a relief. What do you have, RRoD?BTW, OBY.... A week and a half? Thats really good. Maybe I won't have to worry so much about my launch console dying.

I think one of my problems was the hard drive but after logging into xbox live it seems to have fixed itself.
Cybersist
Thats because half of the time support/tech centers are actually overseas. You've never heard of calling Apple and getting an Indian guy named mike? lol
thecoalition
ya know.....If you had bought it at best buy and bought the extended warranty they would have just given you a new Xbox without making you get the old one fixed.muahahaha i work for the hitler of all electronic retailers.but yea...they would have. instead microsoft like to stick it to their xbox patrons by making them send in their junk to give it a half assed fix and then it will be sent right back in a month later when it breaks again. I would much rather take advantage of the extended warranty that xbox gives eeryone anyways and not have to pay for an extended warranty.

james
There's a 1-800-FLOWERS call center near here. Every time I drive by, I imagine how I would handle working there. Choppy Engrish would be high on my list of ways to stay sane. *ring ring*"One eighthunded frowers, how today I can halp you?""*sigh* What country are you in?""Okrahoma!" Bulldog_916
I just ask to be connected with a call center in the states. I've had it work about 30 percent of the time. I always seem to have a problem that no call center has ever dealt with... EVER, that's been my luck 90% of the time. I keep having to tell them, "yes I went through this process and this process and this process." Then I get put on the line with the next person who asks if I did the same things. Pisses me off to no end.

anathema
It's better if you speak with someone who has an accent you are accustomed to. Like for me, it's easy to understand people with thick vietnamese accents and chinese accents since my first language was cantonese.Oh yeah and Dell actually has a feature of buying a computer listed as "North American based phone support" as opposed to the outsourced ones. gaia.plateau
That's what you get for supporting Microsoft.
mikee20
God try calling Dell for computer support. You get someone in India. And then you cant understand a freakin thing they are saying.
St. Goodypants
Perhaps it's deliberate and just they're making extra money on the North American tech support.

supersubby
its really not that bad when you call... they know better English than we do. They have to go to through auditions to work at a call center and go to a better school to learn "American English".
Tali
WOW!So microsoft actually employ tech support people with choppy english? i never knew that since i never had problems with my xbox and xbox 360. i cant believe MICROSOFT who is one the biggest organisations on the face of this planet would do that. Its quite obvious they have VERY SECURE FINANCES to employ perfect accented tech support people for that certain region.
