To Complain Or Not To Compain?

Recommended Posts

Well my go to fav hookah is a SS(Magdy Zidan) Egyptian that I purchased back in July, When I was cleaning it today a Weld completly snapped breaking the stem in two pieces.... sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif Major sadness over here over the death of my hookah... But my thing is would you complain about something like this happening to the vendor? I mean the pipe is 6 months old, but I would expect anything except for the crappiest of pipes to survive longer then that... What do you guys think?

Tough call. Very tough.

It depends on what kind of warranty was offered - And I've never seen warranty offered on a hookah tongue.gif

A Decent vendor, might, offer you a new stem at Cost + Shipping. After 6 months I would consider that a good offer?

Just a thought.

I'd probably make a quick call to the vendor ask about it politely. S.S. has a limited 1 year warranty, so you might get lucky. Edited by Ralleac

yea i would at least speak with the vendor and see what they can do. they will probably say that they cannot replace for free because they are not the ones who make the stems. but like jd said. at cost + shipping would be a good deal still. typically the base is the more expensive piece anyway.

Unfortunately I think I may be screwed, checking back through the Social Smoke website they no longer stock the hookah I have sad.gif Unless they have one hidden in there warehouse... I hate that SS broke ties with MZ and are no longer getting any more in, I'll call later none the less and see what they can do...

I am sorry to hear about your hookah. I would call SS to let them know what happened and also to see if they have any stems that match the vase that you have. Are there any stores or markets that sell hookahs in your town? You could run by a few of those shops with your vase to see if you can find a good stem that would fit it.

I recently got tired of using one of my stems so I went and bought a different one that fits snuggly with the vase.

Yeh man, the one problem with hand-made hookahs, imperfections. There could have been a hole on the inner part of the weld that water got into and corroded the metal away for 6 months.. or any number of things.

Just find an even better pipe to become your favorite. smile.gif
