Ralleac
Well, my parents are both doing work for a Canadian company setting up operations in China for the next year, so they decided they'd let me have their '06 Camry. I've been carless since my 94' Camry died on me almost two years ago, so it's going to be pretty cool.A couple of my friends are flying down with me to pick it up and we're basically going to have 4-5 day road trip from Dallas, Tx. to Portland, Or. I'm taking one of the hookahs and my electric burner along to use whenever we stop for a significant amount of time.I have to get this done sometime within the next 6 weeks, so I'm stoked. New car, and I get to smoke hookah in 6-7 states in less than a week Edited January 8, 2008 by Ralleac

We have like 1 extra day to goof off, but we both have to be back in class by the 22nd. I might be able to swing by Eugene, although I have to drop some people off in Corvallis first. The public transportation in Portland is awesome, but it doesn't come close to matching the convenience of having your own vehicle aside from going downtown (better to take the train, IMO.) The trip was postponed until March due to technicalities regarding school and my parents making a big deal about driving that far in the winter. Rescheduled for Spring Break. It sucks, but on the bright side we'll have time to spare for random stops. I lived in Dallas for 6 years before moving up to Portland in August of '06, so I can show my friends around, and we could probably smoke or something if you're down since we won't be immobile. We'll be flying down, and driving the car 2,000+ miles to get home.Sidenote. One cool thing about Portland is there's no such thing as immobile with the public transportation. $100 every 3 months for my bus pass (cheaper for students) and I can be anywhere in the city in less than an hour most of the time. We also have busses and trains that go out to Eugene, Salem, Corvallis, etc... It's pretty cool, but I can't wait to get that car instead. I almost bought a Tomos moped, but if I can get around that, this'll be better and safer in the long run. DJnargile
That sounds awesome! I've always wanted to make a road trip like that. If you're coming up through Colorado, you should stop on by the lounge I work at. It's arguably the coolest in the northern half of the state.Have fun!
