Ralleac
QUOTE (gr!m @ Feb 23 2008, 01:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Little late on the post but...When a pilot light goes out, gas is still emitted to the pilot. Meaning, gas was very slowly leaking into your place. This could very well be the source of the CO. I am a chef and at my old job the pilots on our 8 burnder stove were broken. Every monring I had to air out the place before going to work in fear of blowing the place up! lol They got it fixed atfer I quit...they were out to get me!Sometimes I feel really wierd after smoking a lot, and I get nervous then my heart palpitates (beats really fast and I can feel it)...though it stopped. I seriously think if you worry too much about it you'll just get an anxiety attack over it! lol, i made myself stop worrying abut it and it doesn't happen anymore. My gas was cut off due to not paying the bill the first time it happened, but the second time around CO shouldn't have had a great presence because it's usually produced by the burning of natural gas (well, the burning of anything, really.) My CO alarm can also pick up other gas leaks I believe, so that very well could have been it, though. It only worries me when the alarm starts going off. I only worry when the dumb alarm starts going off.Gotcha. With all the CO talk I get a little nervous so I just lay my CO alarm next to me while smoking now. I have yet had to have it go off while smoking, even blowing directly into it. Now if I place the coals too close it goes off because of heat, not because of CO. I tried putting coals 6" below it just to see if it would set it off lol.
