Cybersist
So yea, my room went up in flames today... not because of of hookah though......it was because of my stove. See, I went to go turn on that surge protector that covers my space heater and my stove, and somehow my stove was switched on. So I went to turn on my heater, and turned on my stove instead. Sitting at my computer, I started to smell something odd, turned around, and it was my sheets/fav MD jacket/matress.....Its out now and I will post pics tomorrow. austinthecity
Hopefully none of the pics will have flames in them..I could actually see some of my friends pausing to take pics of the fire instead of putting it out...

jerrysalem
I didn't like electric stoves when I first got one but now I think it's the best because of the safety factor. Heck I even 'light' my natural coals on it and it works just fine for that. It's the safety factor...I like to cook with the tea towel on one shoulder and more than one time it's gone on fire from gas. Thank God you're OK man, thank goodness!!
Cybersist
Yep, everyone is ok and most of my stuff is unharmed. Good thing my mattress did not go up, but it would have in like 30 seconds. My box spring was burnt up and it was clearly channeling fire. Glad I had me a fire extinguisher handy. Right now I have everything out of my room, wiping it down, washing walls, vacuuming the rug, etc, etc. Fire extinguisher dust gets EVERYWHERE...I cant even turn on my desktop computer for fear of frying it. Cybersist
Everything is back to normal. My room is filled again with my junk, but I'm washing all of my clothes because of the lingering smell of fire extinguisher. I have 2 air purifiers at work, as well as a few candles, so the smell should be totally gone in a couple of days.

Cybersist
yea, the heater has always been next to the bed and seat like that because it doesn't get hot enough to even burn skin, but the stove wasn't supposed to be there as for the extinguisher, good idea to have one close by, even a small car one
EvansLight
Another reason im going for an electric stove for heating my coals Ive almost set my house on fire more times then i can count, luckily always stopped it before it got to the fire extinguisher stage XD
jerrysalem
Thank god you're OK and you are smarter than most for keeping a fire extinguisher nearby. What did the place look like before?
