erufiku
OK, so I got a new laptop. Tablet 12.1", touchscreen, 1.86Ghz dual core, 2Gb RAM, SATA hard drive, etc. Peachy. Except one thing. Windows Vista. Seriously, this OS is driving me nuts, it takes forever to do anything on my theoretically new computer. I've applied all tweaks from notebookreview forum and turned all eye candy off. Did I get the Zen edition that allows you to reach nirvana while you fire up MS Word or is the OS really teh suxxorz?Worst thing is, if I downgrade to XP, I won't be able to use the tablet nor the touchscreen features.I know some of you are into computers. Any advice would be appreciated.Argh!
shisha fan
make an iso of the installation dvd and rip out unneccesary parts using a piece of software called vlite. that and the usual speed tweaks that you can find on the internet will make your vista installation alot quicker. MechAnt
Personally I love vista. Fast as hell for me. Try these tweakshttp://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3945
Oggie505
Vista coding does have problems with memory leaks, I am staying away until a good SP comes out for it. Problem with new Vista comps, is some companies only make vista drives for certain cards in it, so if you install XP they could not work. For example my bud has a sound card and only vista drivers are available, so he had to reload vista on it.

EternalSoil
thanks, but i would rather have a bad ass PC computer and $4200 than that mac!I have not messed with vista but i know it's bloated.so i would say you need alot to run it.thats probably about the minimum specs required to run vista on a tablet.getting rid of a bunch of crap and holding out for a service pack that cleans up the memory problems would be your best bet.i hope for you that they release it soon though!!
