Feeling Nauseous.

Recommended Posts

So tonight I polished off a can of Starbuzz White Grape, and since I'm out of natural coals, resorted to qucklights. I haven't used this in almost a year. I've smoked three times this week, each time with Japanese-style coals, and been fine. Only tonight, when I used quicklights, did I feel really, really nauseous about halfway through the session. They were red-hot and ashed over when I put them on the bowl, three 33mm halves of Golden Coals. Wierd.

All of this is pretty common.

It might be due to the chemicals coating the quicklight, you skoming on an empty stomach or being dehydrated, lack of ventilation in the room, taking in too much smoke too quickly or other things.

I hope you find the cause of your nausea and it doesn't happen again. wink.gif

I bought some of the coconut shell natural coals but bummer even if I use two they are not that hot and dont like to stay lit. I have the Goldens and they work fine but I can tell the chemical smell in them.

What are good naturals that burn hot and long? I have an electric stove and that lights the coconut ones just fine and need it to light the naturals too, if that is what gives the most natural odor free smoke.

Exoticas natural coals have a pretty good reputation around here. I ordered some online a couple of days ago and i'm now waiting for them.

Ok EL is now more awake, lets see if i can answer this better tongue.gif

Its been a while but if my mind is serving me right it has something to do, more than likely, with either ur blood sugar level or ur blood pressure. I can't remember which one exactly (where is eric when you need him?). Most hookah realted sickness is due to the nicotine, and it could have been your body just wasn't able to handle it. As sated it could have been your stomach was empty. Eating or drinking something sugary usually helps a whole lot. But it could also have been the coals. QL do put off a good amount of CO when they lite, and trust me inhaling that sucks...

QLs seem to make me sick or at least goldens I haven't tried 3 kings but I got exoticas and I smoke 2.5 hours and I didn't get sick or a headache or anything so I think it is QLs. Maybe they have more CO released. But from my experiences QLs kill me.

As i said it could also be the gases let off by the coals. Most of the time its nicotine, but coals can do it too. A good question would be do you lite them inside or out?

I've always used the Romman lemonwood coals from H-S, I'll start them in a mini bonfire in my kettle grill outback. Always been nice enough for me, but I'm starting to branch out to the other brands.

Yeah, but the thing is, this is the fourth session I've had this week. Two with Nakhla, two with Starbuzz. I've gotten a nice, easygoing buzz, but tonight was the first night that sickness actually kicked in. Big bummer, too. Had a nice dinner, a couple of friends over, enjoying some fancy tea right before we smoked. Then whoomph. I lit the coals outside, then brought them in. So, yeah. I had a full stomach and drinking sweetened tea. The only thing I can figure is that its the quicklites. I'm heading out to the local shop to pick up a roll of 3K tonight, and if I have the same problem, I think I'm giving up on them for good.
