Well I decided to start up photoshop again . No tutorials at all. Just me experimenting

I took this picture

Now its not finished yet. I plan to add more detail to the castle. See if i can teach myself to make icicles.add more snow. But here is what I got so far.



Whatcha think?

Version 3. I'm working on cleaning up the snow on the ledges and adding subtle effects such as the lamps in the windows and the light they cast on the walls. I'm teaching myself to draw to make it look realistic and i think i did a pretty good job (I drew the lamps and the lights)

Also I havent got to work on the sky and water yet I'll work on that more either tonight or tomorrow.

Ok. So ive just added minor things so far. touched up things here and there. I also edited the water to fit the clouds more. Whatcha think?
Also, This project is coming far and im teaching myself and learning alot of things.

Something about the water seems off to me, but I'm a clutz when it comes to photo editting so I couldn't tell you what. Everything seems a little too bright considering the clouds in the background. Edited January 10, 2008 by Ralleac

yeah i have to add more texture to the water...i havent gotten to that yet and also i was wondering about the clouds...too much action. I'm thinking of replacing em.

Use a cloudy/fluid metal texture brush over the water, and into the sky just a little above, and below horizon. (pick a bright colour found in the sky) Then use your rectangle tool to select that little bit you just painted in, with it selected go to filter>blur>Gaussian and use 6 to 8 pixels of blur. (you could simply apply a blur, but it would still look a little off without some fog/clouds on the horizon.)

Good image, it looks like you are trying for a pseudo-IR look.

have you tried using tiffen's digital filter suite (aka. dfx)?
i downloaded it but havent used it yet. maybe it would be fun to play around with.

Hate to inform you, at least on my machine, the photo maniped picture is currently not working XD

EDIT: Of course i say that then it pops up As for the image, you need to do alot of work on where the horzion line is. Right now the clouds and horizon line look very unnatural. Edited January 12, 2008 by EvansLight

Thats really cool. Only thing I can see is that the grass is too green for how dark the sky is... Maybe darken it up like the sun is behind the shadow of the clouds.

It's often the tiny things in a photo that really set it off.

For example the lights in some of the windows... excellent

yeah im making sure to pay attention to the tiny details. One person on another forum pointed out the electric junction boxes to the right of two windows...so i'll be removing those and possibly adding more lamps
